  • Some managers have behaved inappropriately, sifting applications they helped with.

Wow! Nothing much changes in the DWP then.
When you're going through hell, keep going...

Thought I'd give an update for others who may have applied for London districts.

I'm not sure if this applies to all of them but I have a friend who's made some enquiries internally for me.

Basically they will make a decision by the end of next week who is being called in for interview, I've been told they won't be sifting based on the competencies due to the sheer number and time constraints.

This is not good, very depressing after waiting all this time!! Its gonna be a long week-end!:(
  • Got my feedback I only got a 3 for 1 competency.
Strange how it passed sifts before.
Not happy about this recruitment process.
Too many inconsistencies with marking competencies in different areas.

Did you find the info I told you about. Let me know what happens

LOndon is a total joke - they may be thinking who to invite for an interview based on what now? LOL

Wonder how many of those "lucky" ones will be then reply with "Thanks but in time it took you to make a decision - I got another job"

    LOL
  • Hi all,
I'm a long time lurker, and I've found this thread very useful so I wanted to share some interesting feedback I got along with my competency scores for Manchester today :

"A good example satisfying many relevant descriptors. Please note – this feedback does not mean that you will or will not be invited to interview. Once all application forms for this vacancy have been considered we will then decide which applicants are to be invited to the interview stage. You will receive a further notification to confirm the outcome of the application stage shortly."

Despite the fact that I scored 96 percentile (22/24, 252/336) and 4,5,6,6,6 I can't help thinking that they're letting me down gently :(

Has anyone else had similar feedback from Manchester (or anywhere else)?

My application for East Scotland has gone 'On hold' today.

My last name starts with B

It does seem pointless to have an entrance test to ensure a basic level of intelligence and common sense, for them to then completely disregard it and base all on competency replies. (If the 36% passrate latest is true)
Some people got a lot of help and coaching on what to write and others really struggled (me!) and it is already apparent there is huge discrepancies in the marking which isn't fair.

Hopefully not much longer to find out either way for me..

Just an update for for people waiting especially east Scotland. I have just logged in to DWP tonight and found the status of my application was still showing as 'On hold' so I nearly didn't click on 'feedback' but luckily I did as I found my Competencies have been marked!! No email to let me know so make sure you all check feedback part dont rely on status or emails!

Still no word on getting an interview so i'm not sure what happens next for me..
  • Im an external candidate and have applied for four regions, Black Country, Birmingham, Staffordshire and Warwickshire. I applied on the 22nd so waiting is painfull! I managed to score a percentile of 78% and just hope that my competencies get looked at! Staffs and Warwickshire have bee "on hold" for days now and the BC and Birmingham are still awaiting review, i have no scores showing for any yet, im just wondering if i will be lead along until the very end then at the last minute recieve the rejection email! i just want to know now and get it over and done with!!! lol

It's very unfair that some people are getting rejection emails and interview emails when others haven't even had their applications looked at the process is really beginning to bug me and I reckon it is completely inconsistent. Ironically I have applied for another job with civil service within another department to earn slightly more money doing a role which is more demanding yet so far I haven't had to jump through this many hoops!
Think I will write this job off because I haven't heard anything and move onwards with other prospects. What a learning curve this has been!

Think it's only people under the specified pass mark that are being told 'no thanks'... and i've not seen anyone offered an interview yet...?

Borderline cases are being held until all sifts are done and then they'll take the top ones to interview :)
