I think they're just marking the competencies randomly.

I got a high mark on the sift test, my surname's at the beginning of the alphabet but I submitted my application late in the process - application still saying awaiting review - hasn't even said 'on hold'.

Perhaps DWP have a different definition than the rest of us for 'shortly' when they say that "your application will progressed shortly" (their poor grammar not mine) :lol

Yes we probably shouldn't over think the methodology.... I am imaging a huge pile of coffee stained print outs spewing off tables and on to the floor, with some extremely tired sifters grabbing what comes to hand. :rotfl:

They're probably as sick of the competencies as we are!!
  • No change in the application so back to the housework
  • Well I think that's my wait over.

    Derbyshire area.

    78% in the online

    2,2,1,1,1 in the competencies.

My mistake was in writing statements in line with the Civil Service competencies for EO grades rather than giving examples following the DWP's own specific competency criteria.

I haven't been emailed that I'm out yet but I can't imagine that those scores will will get much further than the waste paper basket!
  • See I Don't understand why they didn't just mark the competency bit 1st then invite the successful candidates to do the online test....

People scoring high on the test have been given a false sense of hope which is unfair.... It makes me wonder what was the point in doing the test at all as its clearly the competencies that matter

oh gawd I am expecting a similar score, it is demoralising... waiting on feedback that is going to be terrible, I did the same mistake as you.

Sometimes I feel like withdrawing my application so I don't ever need to look back, but I am wondering if there is any chance I might pass with 4's but even that seems high and far now.

I'm so sorry. Sickening, isn't it. I'm still waiting to find out where I've gone wrong (no comments under mine!) but I'll be glad when it's all over, that's for sure.

There were <> 65,000 applications! Can you imagine the time it would take if they had to sift them all!!!

It all matters you need to do well in the test, the competencies and finally the interview.

    Join the club !!

Our only hope is they lower the pass-mark to about 10% or ignore the competency scores altogether ;)
