  • prob right there about the highest scoring getting sift first.

I only got 61 percentile so mine will prob be at bottom of the pile but still got my fingers crossed for my competencies if they even look at them.

Annoyed at that process too, although i didnt do brilliant on the online test thought maybe id got a chance cos i got above average, then i saw the brill results posted on here and I thought no chance, then thought id rather have taken the test then if that wasnt good enough didnt have to waste 2 1/2 days writing comps that might not even be looked at:mad:

I think yours will still get looked at, 36% was the fail mark, so your still way above that.... try stay positive :)
  • I've been very brave and emailed DWP about the differences in my scores [2 in one area, 7 in another for same example].
I'll let you know when I hear anything back....:wall:

Maybe they were doing the highest scoring tests first or something. Hope this isnt a bad sign as really want this job!

I also applied for West Scotland and I haven't heard anything for that.

    Hi

I applied for West Scotland as well, still just showing being reviewed.

Knowing the civil service as well as I do, nothing happens fast.

    Good luck

I got 89% but on the mark out of 350? I got 250? something like that anyway... not really sure how it all works.

I think they will applaude you for investigating it, keep us posted :)

Its the overall mark they look at :) So it will be the 89% for your online testing.

They are soooooooooooooooooo wasting their time by deciding to mark competencies separatey/multiple times for different districts.

If a competency was marked once for one district it should authomatically transfer the marks to the same application for another/other districts, this is only logical.

They are tottaly hopelesly disorganised and wasting their and our time, what a complete mess.

Logical yes. But I applied to 7 districts. 6 of them with the same competencies. But after discussing the application with a friend who was writing theirs at the time, I felt that I could have provided a better example for at least the Building Capability competency so I put in a new star story, and thrust in some keywords from the framework into the others.

So, I hope that the my scores are not transferred over. Otherwise I may have to kick off.

In saying that though. Can you imagine if they let one person appeal. Every single one of the 60,000 applicants could then have a case for appeal because of the major variance marking.
  • I think they're just marking the competencies randomly.

I got a high mark on the sift test, my surname's at the beginning of the alphabet but I submitted my application late in the process - application still saying awaiting review - hasn't even said 'on hold'.

Perhaps DWP have a different definition than the rest of us for 'shortly' when they say that "your application will progressed shortly" (their poor grammar not mine) :lol

Well after scoring 86th percentile I am out, completely flunked the competencies!

    .

Reading your feedback I 'll have no chance if judged that harshly. It's really picky and how are you supposed to tick all their boxes in 200 words? Try not to take it to heart because the system seems designed to fail people in a way.....
