And so the circus continues! For some reason my new EO was not in today, and I sat there waiting and waiting and heard a employee behind me say that she (me EO) wasn't in but another guy was dealing with her appointments. I then ended up seeing my original EO (not the guy who was seeing to my EOs appointments), who I didn't wanna be seeing after he signed me off. He said I needed to sit closer to his desk because he shouted me at my appointment time and I mustn't have heard (I was sat close to my new EOs desk, who wasnt in). He didn't shout me at all, or he didn't shout loud enough because I could hear other EOs shouting out names, and they were even further away, and I kept looking over towards his direction as well. I don't think he even knew I have been seeing this other EO for the last few weeks either. He was stood chatting to a colleague and he shouted me over when he spotted me making eye contact with him.
He is really clueless and I think has it in for me. He started by saying something about the fact I've been signing since end of october and nothing is happening/no progress. Like I was at fault for not getting employed yet. Is there a period of time in which you need to become employed by or else they become arsey with you? 3 months maybe as it has just passed that time for me?
He was asking about why I am only looking for ICT teacher jobs and not other subjects. I told him that my PGCE is in Secondary ICT, so that is what I am qualified to teach. He then asked how long would it take to be able to teach other subjects. I said it would probably be another year, going back to Uni to do a PGCE in another subject because I don't have any relevant experience in another field. He said that could be something to consider. Is he for f**king real? Why would I want to do that? I've spent 5 years going through Uni.
He was also saying someone who works at the JC, their partner did supply work for an agency and they were always needing teachers. I told him I was signed up to agencies but they havent been of an any use. I believe they give priority to those who have been with them/loyal to them for years etc, and that I was also in every local authority teacher database. Those were things I had done long before signing on.
Next up I was telling him I've been applying to web developer jobs also but a lot of them require more experience than I really have. He also had to ask me what the difference was between a web designer and a graphic designer.
He also brought up the "self employed" matter again and I just said I aint doing that anymore. And he went on spouting something or other about the 16.5 hours but I couldn't even tell what he was going on about. I just didn't say anything else on that matter because its over now.
Anyway I took a few jobs away with me, but I didn't actually sign the paper like I usually do. I asked him as I was about to leave if I needed to sign anything and he said I will sign next time. He better not have messed up and make me miss a payment.
He also wrote me an appointment for another time. I take it that means I'll be seeing him again? I'm gonna call them up and get me back to the second EO. Or even change to a third.
I'm really angry I've had to see this guy again without warning, and I'm totally convinced that he is inept at his job. He has also indicated in a roundabout way that I am not doing enough job seeking because nothing has come up yet. As if I really enjoy having to trawl up there every other week to get a poxy £65 a week and don't want it to stop!? I'm sick to death of going to the place, but having to stomach their shoddy way of doing things makes all the more frustrating, annoying and quite frankly stressful.0
