Hi all;
Here I am, reporting in as requested.:o 'Nother sleepless night, unfortunately.DS1 found the 2nd cake I was hoping to stash in the freezer, its half gone already.I didnt put it in straight away as its fruit cake and said to wrap in foil before cutting and leave for a day.
Morning ladies, just a quicky as off to the hospital. The drain has been removed from his face:j:j. He had a comfortable night sleep and has had something to drink but nothing to eat yet, they have apparently toldhim that he isn't allowed home until he has eaten a little so as I know he is really fussy about what he eats I have made him some slow cooker rice pudding and just popped it into a thermos flask to take up.I know he won't be able to resist home made rice pud.
Andrew is coming with me to see him, that should perk him up a bit, hopefully he can come home this afternoon/evening.
Dilly's getting to know the route I take her, which is good, seeing as I've been on auto-pilot all morning. She's 13, and only wants fairly short walks, so down as far as the "poo-bin" and back seems to be ideal for her; and we can dispose of the poo at the same time!:D She's such a good girl - she's got anti-biotics, which she takes as if she was being given a sweet, and Metacam liquid, which goes on her food (it's a NSAID medication, meloxicam, for arthritic joints) which she eats quite happily.
Bless her, she thinks my kitchen timer is the front door bell, and barks every time it rings. I guess her owners must have the type of doorbell with a continuous ring.:D
OS-wise, I've made dough for tonight's pizza; I shall need to construct the pizza later on; and the BM is currently working on a loaf.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello all,
Thought I would just pop in and see how everyone is doing. Been a while since I posted on MSE. Sending hugs to all those in need and healing thoughts to all in pain.

Hi all,
SISTERCAS, ROSYRED, MONNAGRAM and BARGAINBIRD :A, I do hear what you are saying but I find it very difficult to rest, wish I could sometimes, anyhoo I managed 5 1/2 hrs so that made a big dent in the amount that needs doing. I will be taking things easier tomorrow as I'm having DGD3 from 9 - 1.30pm I haven't spent a lot of time with her so need to bond a bit more. I'm having her on Thursday a.m. so DD2 can take DGD2 to her swimming lesson.
DH has been busy fitting burgler alarms, I've no idea why he suddenly feels we need them, after all we have been here for 32 yrs without any problems. Oh well it keeps him happy.
DD2 and SiL2b fitted theirs last week, as I had to go there today DH told me to enter the pin then press unlock. WRONG !! I should have pressed unlock then entered the pin. The alarm went off and it was so loud, I didn't know what to do. Their house phone rang, it was SiL2b, apparently when the alarm goes off he gets a call to say the house is being burgled. He talked me through what to do and I managed to stop it. I was a gibbering idiot by then.
Then DD2 phoned as she had the same message, then DH phoned as he gets the same message, it was like a farce unfolding in front of me.
Well, after such a day I'm gonna have a long soak and a glass of vino...... Think I've earnt it.
LAMEWOLF, Glad to see you posting, stay strong hun.x
UOLYPOOL, Hope you have DS home now and that ANDREW has cheered him up.0 -
Lw- no the cake wasnt for anything in particular-just wanted to make it last a bit longer, but I suppose with 3 males in the house that was a bit unrealistic.Just had a slice myself now as DH made me a cuppa.Oh & heres a bowl of rice pud for you
.After reading Uolypools post I put some in the slow cooker, looking forward to that now.Dilly sounds a good girl,I never have any trouble giving Leo meds either.I just squirted Metacam in his food when he hurt his back.Hope you sleep better tonight xx
Been to the market,DS2 is going to turn green-I got so much broccoli :rotfl:it was cheap. He's already had broc & stilton soup at lunch.
JG- imminent labour vibes coming your way
Uolypool-hope Ds gets home and is much improved.
Hope you all have a good evening,I fancy watching Dickens Edwin Drood
Beth- I suppose as long as you feel ok thats the main thing .I'm looking after DGNephew on Thursday as DN has a training day and he isnt booked into nursery that day.I'm looking forward to it,but I've not had him a full day before,so hope he's ok.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Evening all
Beth - take it easy please!
I'm another fan of SW here, it works so well if I stick to it (if being the operative word). I'll be back on it from Monday after I've moved house.
My new group of work kids started today, they were tough work but we had fun. I'm not sure how many will stick it though. One in particular, he is 17 and has a lot of problems and says he never wants to work. He will be tough. I'm working in a very deprived and rough area so the kids come across as tough, but really most of them are lovely once you get to know them.
Braindead now. Need to try do some uni work and packing tonight.
OS wise - cleaned fridge last night, and put the shelves and door bits in DW. DW empted now and fridge re-filled. Dinner will be LO chilli in fajitas.
Have a good day all

Evening, another one here saying Beth please take it easy.
My boy is home:j:j. The swelling was due to the attack, He ate most of the rice pud so was allowed home. Face still looks like he has done 10 round with Mike Tyson, , Andrew kept making him laugh, which was painful but something I thought I wouldn't see for a while. The police contacted us to say that the attack has been linked with another that happened that night, that person was able to give a few more details regarding the attacker so have fingers firmly crossed that they will be caught, before they do it to someone else that may not be quite so lucky.
School have offered councilling for him if he feels he would like it. Only time will tell I think , He has been signed off school for the next two weeks to begin with. He is fretting as he has a A level Maths mock exam next week. School have said not to worry himself with that and to concentrate on getting better.
So all in all , a good day. Well as good as it could be. Have a lovely evening everyone.
AND BETH SLOW DOWN PLEASE;)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0
