Wish I'd been in the market for a new phone at Xmas ;-)
Huh! I was and I decided to take part on their offer. I bought myself a new Nokia E5 with the promise of £20 worth of vouchers (you have to specify who you want them for out of a number of retailers, I chose Amazon).

I got that e-mail stating that if I had been sent extra vouchers to please return them. Cheek!!!! I haven't received any yet and they will expire on 28th Februrary 2012 They were supposedly sent out on December 29th 2011. Surely an envelope does not take this long to arrive somewhere when it is sent in the UK to and address in the UK?

What happens if they don't turn up and that expiry date comes round? O2 had better honour the agreement because I believe it is a binding contract, part of the purchase.

I shall rattle another e-mail off to them today but If I don not hear anything satisfactory within 2 days I shall write (snail mail) to the CEO of O2 here in the UK and complain. After all, I have already missed out on some January sale items :(

I finally got mine about a week and a half ago. This was after I complained politely but strongly and stated that I was very unhappy with the service I had received and that I would be in touch with the CEO of O2 here in the UK. I meant it too.

That wasn't quite the end of it all though... I came to try to use my vouchers with Amazon and it would not recognise the codes :( Which then meant I had to contact Amazon customer services. To be fair to Amazon they replied within the hour and got it sorted and I was able to order a couple of books I wanted :)

Well ive emailed them and been told that my voucher was posted on 24/01. Im really not sure I have faith this is correct given the problems evidenced above.

It hasnt yet been received so they are outwith the 30 days they quoted.

I have sent a further email to chase, will update with response.

Mine was supposed to have been posted just after Christmas. It was certainly late December according to the e-mail I got from them. When it arrived the envelope was postmarked a couple of weeks into January of this year!

so don't believe them when they say it was posted out way back when... Keep onto them, it's part of a contract and they have to uphold their end of that contract.

  • You are not alone.
I received the O2 £20 voucher when I purchased a Blackberry for my son at Christmas. I was told in store that I would not be able to apply for M&S vouchers as they had pulled out of the offer (not a great start).
When I attempted to enter the voucher code on the O2 promotions web page, the code was not valid. Having tried (and failed) a couple more times, I called the O2 customer services team. They took my details, the voucher details and the EIMI number of the phone. I was told that they will manually process the voucher and I will receive them through the post in approximately 2 weeks.
2 weeks came and went and after waiting beyond the 3rd week, I called O2 Customer Services again to ask what was happening. I was told that nothing had been put through on the account and no vouchers had been processed. They did confirm that there had been issues with the voucher offer and once again took all of the details that I had previously given to them. I was advised that they have set up a team to deal with this issue and my details would be passed to them to process the order. I was also told that there were no more Argos and Amazon vouchers now!
This all happened mid January. It is now the end of February and I still have not received anything from them.

I feel that I have been sold this product and will be looking for compensation (above the £20 voucher).
I know that if I had been one of the lucky ones to have received vouchers by mistake, I would have used them.

I look forward to seeing the next series of WatchDog on BBC - I guarantee this will get a slot in the show.

  • Invoice them for the same value as the vouchers.
