Student halls - gas coming in through window from boiler flue below!

Thank you.
Is it the sticky out flue which you think is troubling you or the closer one?
Yep it's the sticky out one that's causing the problem with the plume. I'm sure the flue gases from the other don't even enter my room as it would just rise up, and half time our boiler doesn't even work:mad: It just shows how poorly managed this place is.0 -

The flue below your window might be a Worcester, The others look different.
That is not a Worcester Flue in a million years, no might about it!

So after looking at the pic, do you notice anything that might be helpful? What are GasSafe likely to do?0 -

Yes I think, and this is my opinion, that all of those flues were badly located in respect of the direction the flues are pointing in. How GSR will deal with it is up to the inspector who comes out but if it were me I'd be forcing plume kits, taking the plume to the outer corners or at least in that direction. I don't think the vents would be an issue as they look far enough away from possible plume kit positions. This is only an idea but, give your local building control a ring and ask their advice, I recently fitted a plume kit to a boiler after the council forced the issue with an offending owners boiler flue causing nuisance to a neighbour's window and it wasn't as bad as yours looks like it could be! I can see how that would be very annoying. The distances maybe fine but its really not ideal.
Look up "nuisance flues" and read the pages listed by the government.0 -
I think all of these flues should have plume management kits added. They are not ideally placed.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I would wait until all checks have been made, and that should include a flue gas analysis by an analyser that can read NOX & SOX as should be checked on a condensing boiler
The only fga tests required at inspection/repair/service/commissioning are CO and CO2. Despite your claims, you clearly don't have a clue what you are on about.0 -

Edit: flue in question is 2nd one up , with no guard covering it.0 -

In that case, why does it look exactly the same as the flue we had fitted a few months ago with our new Worcester Bosch boiler?0 -
What utter nonsense, you clearly are not competent on CPA1.

:rotfl: Do I smell bad eggs again :rotfl:
There are other uses for flue gas analysis, such as locating smells and the cause
When in doubt check it out  after all it could just be an unburnt pilot light emission that will never reach an explosive ratio ???Signature removed0
