On the recipe ideas front - anyone know fun things to do with boys that would involve cadbury dairy milk - I'd love to make our own eggs or sweets etc - but can you buy moulds for these sort of things? I have loads of DM but my boys wouldn't eat choc like that they only eat small kiddie sweets/ choc so i'd love to get them involved in making something fun outta the choc - i gave so much of it away but I still have 12 bars left ! And i'll not eat them ! Thanks
P.s If its cakes or anything im up for it - just not crispies or anything like that ! Cheers
I used to make our own eggs with my boys years ago, I bought moulds but can't remember where from (any craft or baking type shop I expect), they used to really enjoy it, there are lots of easy sweets you can make too. Its messy but good fun.0 -
DaisyDuck - I could do with some recipes for my DM stash as well but I know that Lakeland do silicone sweetie moulds. That's one I've found for the ones I bought on a whim years ago when walking through Lakeland in England in awe as NI didn't yet have a store.0

I have let the side down today. A friend should have been coming over for coffee at 3. Even made twinks hobnobs. I (ahem) rushed em though and didn't space em out much. They turned out of the oven like a big flapjack on both trays:rotfl:
... They were rescued easily enough though. Whilst still hot, I used a cup to cut out perfect discs!!!! (Top tip if they go wrong)
As I was expecting someone I made sure tea is all ready to go as soon as they leave. Hence, I have cheated and tea tonight is a balti made with a sauce (pataks!!) added to veg and whoopsied meat.
My other half is working. The curry crown is not mine in this house (although I make a mean biriani and the nicest naans you've ever tasted!)
Smells nice though
Anyone for a hobnob?
Looks like my coffee pal ain't coming!

Well we just made our own choc's up lol - last of the big spenders eh - we used a piping bag and made choclate buttons and they're cooling on some baking paper - it was a real scene lol - they were into for a bit and then wanted to lick the spoon - I will let them engrave them in a bit with their initials lol !
They have been so ill and today actually ate their dinner so thought a bit of choc might give them a wee energy boost - they are back in watching cars 2 now so cheered them up for a bit !
Will defo get the wee silicon thingyss tho - I think if I had of had a mould it would of been more fun xx0 -

Poundland do little moulds for shaped chocs but we used the false teeth ice cube moulds they sell for different looking ones, putting a rice crispie for each tooth then pouring the choc in. Just be sure the choc isn't roasting hot when you pour because it'll melt the mould, we melt ours (cooking choc) in the microwave for 30 secs to 1 min on half power and it comes out melted but not hot. Our kids at after school club loved doing these
