You could get a cat with FIV, the RSPCA rehome them on assisted adoption so they pay all the medical costs and because of their condition, they have to be kept indoors so only rehome to upper floor flats.

Just something to look into if you did want a pet, a lot of these cats are in the homes for a while because they can't find suitable adoptees, you sound ideal x
    Thanks K I'll look into that :) I don't mind a bit of cat crap, I get enough from T's :D

Hi everyone, 3-dogs and Blondynurse, I hope you manage to get through the next wee while without your pets OK. It is always so sad when the time comes for a pet to go:(

I had to skip the last few pages as I was finding it too difficult to read all the poems etc.
I just have to think about our wee pooches from the past and I am a wreck, and god forbid anything should happen to our current little princes Zoe (she is very accident prone, so has already adopted the vet as part of her pack).

Got some wee bargains at MrT's tonight, will try and post pics tomorrow.

Surprise egg 17p Like a kinder but plastic.
Bubbles on a lanyard 20p (pictures have been posted previously by others) Princess types and toy story and cars.
small love me bear keyring 37p
Lindt milk chocolate and Hazelnut bar 50p SEL
    Parachute ts3 50p

    Hope this helps folks.

    Need my bed
    Night all:)

I am off to bed but will gladly open the bar, so, usual rules:)

Help yourself to your preferred tipple and leave your money in the honesty box on the bar.

Enjoy, I don't drink but after tonight's thread I could cheerfully go a small something:)

I need to take back the Sony headphones that I had dtd back on, can someone tell me how much they have to give me or would it be better to ask to pay the difference for a better pair ?
Bought 4 pairs, tried 1 but they crackle so want to take all of them back.

Taking stuff back after having DTD is a lottery, all you can do is go and ask. Nobody here can give you a definitive answer.

I got a pair of the senny PX100's on clearance....wish I'd bought a couple of spare pairs. They really are excellent.

I got a pair of 595's plugged into my PC but use the PX100's in bed on the lappy and I actually prefer the sound from the px100/lappy combo!! :)

PMSL! Definitely do, cats with FIV can live happily for many years and how lovely to be able to give them a loving home :) God that sounds like I'm trying to guilt you into it, I'm not, honest!

    If it should be....
If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for we know this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
but don't let grief then stay your hand,
for this day, more than the rest,
your love and friendship must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears.
Would you want me to suffer? So,
when the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend,
only stay with me until the end,
and hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

It is a kindness that you do to me,
although my tail it's last has waved,
from pain and suffering I have been saved.

Do not grieve, it should be you,
who must decide this thing to do.
We've been so close, we two these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

For all of you going through the heart break of losing a beloved pet. xxxx

    May I Go?

    May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled days
    and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
    an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyond
    and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go. I really do
    . It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and afraid,
    because I see your tears.
I'll not be far, I promise that,
    and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
    wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you, too.
That's why it's hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.
So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
    you'll let me go today.

Be strong. You are obviously doing the right thing for your beloved dog.

Oh deary me Squigs, what beautiful sentiments and lovely words. Terribly mascara stained face here! :o:Axx

My thoughts and (((hugs))) to you both, I can't imagine how much it must hurt to lose a child.

My mum is up in heaven looking after all my lost pets, and no doubt adopting every waif and stray there is going knowing her, she never could resist a sob story, the soft old bat :heart::heart:

*Cuddles and hugs and cwtches and my sincere bestest wishes sent to everyone. I absolutely love this thread. The most genuine, caring, helpful and friendly group of people I've ever stumbled across on an internet forum. It's just lovely to see way the support from fellow members encourages honest and personal responses and people feel comfortable enough here to share :Axx
OMG have spent the last hour crying for everything I've lost in the last year and the poor wee doggies and their families.
Still have tears running down my face as I type haven't had a good cry in over a week just think I block a lot of it out then go on auto pilot.

I think rescue pets make the best because they may have suffered at the hands of humans but they give you a chance to redeem our race by letting you in and love them and they love you in return.
I know both my dogs love me but my puppy boy (a pound dog) shows it every time he sees you, he forgets he's not tiny but built like a tank and jumps straight at you as if he hasn't seen you in months, showers you with kisses and the tail, oh how it wags I always tell him that one day it'll fall off :rotfl: I think it's because he doesn't want us to forget him. He's a boxer cross and would be a totally different animal without that tail.

My puppy girl on the other hand knows I'll always be there, I'm her mum she remembers no other. I have had her from she was 6 weeks old, my late DH got her for our 11th anniversary. She was born on the 2nd August 2010 and is the best present I've ever got I don't know what I'd do if I lost her.
She's my 1st dog so is doubly special. Her mum was chucked out when they found out she was having pups so in a way she's a rescue too but knows nothing but love.

I got my puppy boy while I was feeling very down after DH died, I may have regreted it for a few days because he didn't get on with the other dog but knew I could never send him back. It may have taken a few months for things to settle down along with losing a few dinning chairs and a sofa but I now am glad he chose me, could you have resisted this sad face??

I just can't wait to get into my own house so I can have all my babies with me again, a house isn't a home without a pet to love

I could NEVER resist that dear little face, gorgeous! :D

All caught up and it's goodnight from me. Sweet dreams everyone :)
