So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.0 -
She has been your family pet for 13 years, you owe it to her to find out why she is behaving like this, there are all sorts of medical problems that can cause this and more importantly all sorts of treatments you can try. You wouldn't give up on one of your children this easily and dont forget A dog is for LIFE and not until you get fed up of it. I think the most important thing you can do as far as your children are concerned is to show that when you take on the responsibility of a pet it should be for life, especially when your dog needs help. Don't just turn away because there is a problem, find a solution. If PTS is your solution to the problem please do not ever have another pet just to give up when a problem arises. If you have made your mind up to get rid of your dog have you considered trying a rehoming centre. Someone may give her a few more years love and care.
I think you are being very hurtful. I had to send my last two dogs to the :A and i still cry. If they are ill and nothing can be done its better than them suffering. Sorry i can't say anymore because i am starting to cry.

I agree that it would be good idea for blondynurse to try and find out why her dog is acting this way ... but (and I maybe speaking out of turn here cos I've not read back properly) after having the dog for 13 years I don't feel she is giving up on a dearly loved pet "as soon as a problem arises" and (speaking as a dog owner) feel your advice to never have another pet a bit harsh.0 -

555_ I think that is a bit strong, especially for a first post. I wonder if you are an existing member who has registered to post something you don't feel comfortable posting under your own name. If so it would be better to at least post under your existing name.0
