Just had an update from OH reference FIL, now saying its either a stroke or a bad head injury!! wish they would make up their bloody minds. Waiting for a Neuro (wotsit) bloke/woman to come and see him, normal doctor has checked his brain scan and said something not right but doesn't want to say what exactly until he's been seen by the big man!! OH is in bits wants to take his dad home, already talking about moving his bed into the front room and chucking out one of the sofas, i have tried to tell him this won't work as apart from no room, because he can't stand or even use a zimmer frame because his arm isn't working properly we won't be doing him any favours and he really needs to get professional help. Another phone call whilst typing this and they are now saying he might have to be transferred to Frenchhay hospital in Bristol which has the brain surgery specialists. OH breaking his heart as his mum died from a brain injury and was also treated in Bristol this was when he was 15 yrs old, really wish i could be at home but luckily only a couple more days to go and i will be with him.

Oh Sending you and OH & FIL hugs

    A happy ending...:j:j

My eReader saga took me round the loop and after several calls to both the head of CS and Tech Support I got the thing resolved rather old style-

I went back to my local and got the head of electricals to ring up and then email sony that it was the right receipt after all. ...and they accepted the word from the horse's mouth. ;)

He wasn't a horse, was definitely the nicest of the lot that I talked to! -and didn't make a complaint in the end. maybe I should have after all the rigamarole.

Would love a happy glitch to revive the spirits, although that lovely post about Bootsalebargains saving that little girl certainly made me smile!

Collecting rose hips for rose hip syrup? ( does make me very old as I doubt anyone here would have done it::(.) Children collected them and took them to the chemists who bought them and moved them on for the production of rose hip syrup. A valuable source of vit C for children then

thats great, can u be here at my house for say 20 to 9am? you can leave your car here and we can go in my car. then do the tescoing after that?

OK, but if I'm not there by 20 to 9 please leave without me and I'll catch you up in the shop. I'd hate you to miss anything because I'm running late :D
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

Just home and come back to cake and biscuits....look so tasty, shame I can't eat them as they are only photos...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Happy..enjoy your poached eggs..:) and Lennie , as usual, your dinner sounds lovely.

Reading the thread brings back wonderful memories of playing rounders at the bottom of the street where there was a large grassed area. Like so many of you..We used to play hop scotch and draw the squares with a stone or chalk....so many other great games...:):):)

Bensonsmum...hope your FIL improves soon....a difficult time for you and your OH...I feel for you..xx

    Enjoy your evening..:D

Bensonsmum - so sorry to hear about FIL. Fingers crossed he improves and you & your family are in my thoughts.

Purdita - I followed a recipe for lemon drizzle cake (http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4942/lemon-drizzle-cake) but I can never get the drizzle to crystalise on top of the cake. Tastes bloomin lovely but would much prefer some crunch when biting into the top of it. Would you be so kind as to let me know what ratios you use and if the recipe I use is ok apart from the drizzle? TIA

I tried the same recipe and agree that the cake is tasty but the drizzle did not crystalise too much...thought maybe it was me..:rotfl::rotfl:
