Bensonsmum- hope you get some answers soon - sending hugs your way
These memories are taking me back
Yes i also had the lace up skates that went over your shoes me and my sister had to share so usually ended up going out with one each :rotfl:
My first computer was an oric 1 I remember me and my brother writing out all the games then loading on to the tapes then the binary sounds as it was being loaded whilst praying the game would work at the end of it.
Loving the cakes and biscuits pics think I need to start practising feel my poor kids are missing out on all this home cooking. :rotfl::j:j :j:j0 -
Still waiting for my parcel from yodel
think courier lives in Australia  its been out for delivery with them since just after 10 am yesterday
I had a bedside cupboard from them last week, there should have been two and I mentioned it to the Yodel bloke who just shrugged.
Went online to track the missing one and he had marked it delivered.
Rang and made a fuss and they said it would turn up in a couple of days.
While I was at work the next day the Yodel man came with the missing cupboard and asked DIL for the other as there was one to return.
She didn't know any better and gave it back to him!!!
Now they are out of stock and I only have one!!!!!!!!
Useless they are. Mines a kettle when i finally get it. Still waiting. :mad:0 -

Before i catch up - any deals on washing powder capsules? Or any deals in Mr Ts at all?
Going to Mr Ts in about half hour & i reckon it will take me longer to catch up as i am only on post #5000!!!!
Please and Thank you x0 -
oh yes we played kerby british bulldog kick can two balls pegs and many others and the whole street used to play till it was dark then everyone went in how times have changed and im only 43
How many streets these days could you find opposing kerbs free to play with? The street I'm in isn't so bad but where my folks live, you're lucky you get a free space to park in their street let alone play kerby!
Looking forward to more recipes. I managed to get some puff pastry and sweet shortcrust pastry RTC last week but I haven't decided what to make yet. I'm thinking chicken & leek pie with puff pastry and an apple pie. I have chicken, Campbells soup and the pastry but I need some MSE cooking tips! And for the apple pie, can you use any apples or are cooking ones best? Again, any cooking tips greatly appreciated as I'd love to make dinner and dessert for my folks with my own fair hands.0 -

Dismantling my pram to get the wheels off to make a go-cart :rotfl::rotfl:
A couple of years ago my husband made our son a go cart using wheels from an old wheelchair and a plastic garden chair with the legs cut off to make the seat.
It had no brakes but one used to sit in the chair to steer it and a friend would stand on the back when they were going down the hill on it. The number of times they fell off....but you could hear their screams of laughter from the top of the lane!
Fortunately we live in a quiet village so not much traffic....:D
The other kids were so jealous of this go cart My OH could have made a fortune!!
He also made the kids peg guns using bit's of wood, with pegs attached that would fire rubber bands!
And he makes them bows and arrows from willow branches and string....and sticks with notches cut in the end.My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

Does anyone else remember playing two-ball up against a wall while singing rhymes? Also marbles digging holes in the garden & making mud pies!
We had a steep hill close by & we used to sit on cardboard & slide down the hill which led town to a main road:eek:. A favourite was to go the local woods & make a den with old mattresses & odd bits of furniture & sheets. There was also a huge hedgerow of blackberry bushes. We used to collect carrier bags full & Mum would make blackberry tarts. Nom Nom...:p Those were the days when we could stay out all day & just come in for meals.0 -
