re childhood memories did anyone else have gnashers? those ancient roller skates that had an adjuster on the bottom and a lace up strap across the toes and a buckle strap round your ankle, i never had any but my elder brother did, he would only lend me one so i used to scoot round on one skate, also i never had a new bike wheen my bro outgrew his and got a new one dad cut the rossbar welded it down to look like a girls bike and gave it a coat of paint
i had a three wheeler trike when we lived in lincolnshire and we regularly used to stash a bottle of pop and some butties in the box on the back and be out all day biking to various rellys as long as we were home by dark noone worried.
oh happy days (kids would be ringing childline for less theses days)
my babies had a proper pram as i walk everywhere so i went for the coachbuilt with the big shopping tray underneath (and a seat on top for the toddler)SPC~12 ot 124

Just had an update from OH reference FIL, now saying its either a stroke or a bad head injury!! wish they would make up their bloody minds. Waiting for a Neuro (wotsit) bloke/woman to come and see him, normal doctor has checked his brain scan and said something not right but doesn't want to say what exactly until he's been seen by the big man!! OH is in bits wants to take his dad home, already talking about moving his bed into the front room and chucking out one of the sofas, i have tried to tell him this won't work as apart from no room, because he can't stand or even use a zimmer frame because his arm isn't working properly we won't be doing him any favours and he really needs to get professional help. Another phone call whilst typing this and they are now saying he might have to be transferred to Frenchhay hospital in Bristol which has the brain surgery specialists. OH breaking his heart as his mum died from a brain injury and was also treated in Bristol this was when he was 15 yrs old, really wish i could be at home but luckily only a couple more days to go and i will be with him.Very proud to be Strip club member No 430

I also got the 36 weetabix today in my Extra and they did scan at £1.49 but said £2 on the box.
Also got some foxes biscuits for 75p and some hair ties for 50p in the kids clothing section, it was on one of those whirly things and everything was 50% off.

Took her into my mums house to call the police (only people I could think of to call). She couldn't tell us her name but realised a new family had moved in not long ago that had children so I went up to their house, front door was wide open dad hadn't even realised she was gone.
This happened to me some years ago, except it was a little boy and it was pouring with rain, his p.js were wet to the knee and he had bare feet.
I asked about but nobody knew him, went to the local playgroup and shops in the same road and they didn't know him so eventually rang the police.
A police car came, then social services, this took about an hour and a half but still no parents.
Just as they were putting him in the car with social two women drew up in a car and started shouting.
It was the mum and nan and he had been missing for at least two hours (by the look of him, about five) but they had only just realised.
They gave me a right mouthful and I left the scene but later found that two of the children were later taken into care.
So sad but not really surprising as the state of the child, he couldn't have got that bad in a week, let alone one morning!!!0 -
Talking of the "good old days" I remember swapping a WWII gas mask for an air rifle in primary 7. Used to practice hitting cans on the wall between us and a neighbour, until one day when I shot my neighbour in the A**! Didn't get into trouble but the air rifle was given to my brother as a punishment!Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can
