I wish I had a microwave. It would have to be micro to go in my kitchen!!

I used to do no.2 cakes in a microwave.....

2oz of EVERYTHING: sugar, butter & sr flour and 1 egg

Cook for 2 mins in microwave. Easy peasy. Serves 4. Tastes like a steamed sponge.

    Endless variations too:

*Substitute 1/2 oz of flour for cocoa for choc sponge.
*Pop syrup at the bottom of yer bowl before adding the mix for syrup sponge.
*Add coffee granules with the flour for coffee cake (could also add walnuts or crushed nuts)
    *Add dried fruit
*Add lemon zest to the mix then drizzle with sugar and lemon juice whilst hot n steaming.
*Add dessicated coconut to the mix then smear top with warm jam and sprinkle with more coconut for a school dinners type pud.

    Etc etc.

Love your recipe though. Wish I could fit one in my kitchen :(

YAY! I bought a bag of value SR flour today and made a version of this tonight (I added a small box of Sun Maid rasins) and apart from 2 errors on my part it worked a treat. Thanks so much JJ ... I'll be def doing it again.

Error #1: The mixed quality looked so small and I underestimated the 'rise' that I filled only 2 small plastic pudding bowls (I think they were Aunt Bessy steam pudding bowls). So when (at 1 min) they had expanded so much I scooped half of each and filled a 3rd bowl and continued the bake.

Error #2: Maybe cos I had interrupted the process they didn't lookas though they were fully baked ... so I did another 30secs ... and then another. So in the end ... although they were still nice ... they were a bit 'crispy' around the edges at the top. :D

Doh! I never thought that cos they're microwaved they wouldn't brown.:rotfl:

yes, and it was a bit of a shock that he looked so old- i had been watching him on heartbeat earlier in the evening, so he had aged lots in the space of a couple of hours!

I bring your attention to this bit...

Mother-of-two Elaine Carmody, 24, was one of the first yesterday to be marched out of Tesco by a security guard for wearing her pyjamas in store.
She said: 'I just don't understand it. I go in other shops in my pyjamas and they don't say anything.

'You used to always be allowed in Tescos. But not now, it is ridiculous and stupid. I've got lovely pairs of pyjamas, with bears and penguins on them. I've worn my best ones today, just so I look tidy.'

Well I have pulled on clothes OVER my PJs if I need to rush out on a glitch tip off! What they don't know can't hurt em ;)

  • It was at the very top of her leg

i feel completely naked if i havent got any make up on when i go out. To me its like going out with no shoes on!

I work in a hospital and see patients out and about in their jammies all the time. There are 2 very different types- the ones who just dont care and will wear the grubbiest looking pj's ever and those who have got all brand new on. I fall into the brand new camp!

But the other ones do cause a bit of a nightmare for infection control....

Cant think of anything for your peaches right now, but i am sure whatever you do with them, will look and taste fab :)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I meant which store?!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yep I'm in that camp too! :D

And thanks lovely, I might bake the peaches with cinammon and mixed spice, puree them and stir half into a vanilla sponge mix and drizzle the other half of the puree over the top or into the icing....playing around with recipes in my head all the time :p:D
