Nope it was me :D well half a dozen of them anyway, I did leave some on the strip :rotfl:- thought they'd be good to put in with Xmas cards for the family mext year. Also managed to get the dotty wipeclean tablecloth for 54p too - sorry took last one.
Best bargain I got in the last couple of days was actually at sainsbobs - pack of 12 vacuvin Christmas Wine glass markers - not with the xmas sale stuff but on a clipstrip with the crockery and glasses - 10p down from £3.50

Mmmm ... spotty wipe clean table cloth :o sounds very handy ... would you have the b/c for this please?

Good idea for the using the CDs ... If I see some myself I might have to pinch that idea from you as well :D

I'm 48 the bakestone I can trace back 120 yrs and I doubt it was new then, I also use my great grans recipe with *shock horror* half lard half butter, when I text my O/H to say I'm making them I have a sea of council groundsmen faces at my window and 4 dozen got in under 5 minutes :D

Is there any chance of having the recipe - these welsh cakes of yours sound absolutely lush!!! will love you for ever :A:A:A[/QUOTE]

    8oz plain flour
    3oz sugar
4oz "fat" I use half salted butter and half lard - can use all butter if preferred
    ½ tsp baking powder
    pinch nutmeg
    2oz currants
    1 egg
    splash of milk if needed

Rub the fat and flour together as if making pastry so you get the breadcrumb stage
Chuck rest of dry ingredients in
add the egg to form a soft dough (use milk if too dry)
Roll out on a floured board
cut into circles (I use a drinking glass)
pop onto a heated bakestone for 2-3 mins per side
Use a non stick frying pan instead of a bakestone
Place on a wire rack to cool and sprinkle with sugar

    Morning
No T's for me today I'm in too much pain.
I hope HC is back soon it's not the same catching up in the morning without him.
Caz I just wanted to say I hope everything works out for you. I had similar issues and ended up moving 200 miles back to my family to get away from threats and manipulation. For six years I was threatened with what would happen if I tried to get any money from him. I also stash all sorts of bargains for fear of not being able to afford things in the future. It does get easier eventually.

Queen of Cheap the takeaway secret is a fab book. All my family have it now including my SS in Auz. I also sent it to Tenerife where the bar owner was craving a proper kebab. They love it and use it all the time.

    Have a good day everyone.

I'm making a Baileys Coffee Cake in a minute (when my butter softens)

May upload a picture. Recipe is completely my own. Goes down a treat!!!!

Will have to make a note of what I do in case anyone is taking notes.
