While back home,as i was hoping for snow and there was none,we made an instant decision to go to the mountains to show our children some snow and got a true mse style short break-3days/2nights stay in a skiing resort with breakfast, skipasses and accomodation for 4 people/we paid 4adults so that kids have proper beds/ for a mere £200 and we loved it. Cheap ski rental as well - lovely lady let us have 3 pairs of skiis for 3 days for about £50. I will post pictures soon

I love the snow but won't be able to ski, that was another thought I had about going somewhere snowy in Europe, where did you find the short break ?
  • Morning everyone & Happy Chappy

How many pages have i come back to?
Got no chance of reading back as got to go dentist then straight to work.

Mrs moneypenny thanks for the good description of where they were but unfortunately no sign of the toilet roll fresheners i walked up and down every aisle in the hope that they had been moved but i think some one beat me to it.

Have a good day everyone, hope fully i will get back on tonight, to try catch up on reading back.

Oh update on my issue with a Manchester mr t
    Refused dtd as used SS
Contacted ho in the store and the manager still refused to honour dtd despite being told to - ho sending a money card for balance of dtd
Decided to email a complaint regarding my treatment by the manager not the cs staff
Phone call back on Monday saying no I wasn't entitled
Today received money card for £15
Ok any clue as to why there profits are down oh yes they don't know what they are doing ......
    Xx

They have been so successful for so long that they've become lazy and complacent, that's what's to blame! Though obviously no-one on here's going to complain TOO loudly given that it's their lazy complacency that provide the glitches we're so fond of :D

What you have done for your neighbour and his dogs....goes way beyond the call of duty. He's very lucky to have someone like you next door.
I'm dreading the day I lose Purdy....can't bear to think of it, but have decided that once she's gone to the big dog walk in the sky, I'm done with pets.
I'd like to travel before I get too old or too ill to do it, and I'm one of those soppy people who can't leave their dog in a kennels for a fortnight, so we've not had a proper holiday for about 8 years, which has been OK as we've had a house to totally renovate which took about 5 years!! but I want to go to Australia as I was born there.

When we had a dog we used to take her back to the breeder where we got her, as she ran a boarding kennel which was lovely, all the dogs were in together in small groups as she found they were happier that way and went for long walks across the downs every day. Lucy was so happy she hardly wanted to come back!

Just saying that if you find the right kennels it needn't be a negative experience for Purdy :)

It will be interesting to see what Waitrose profits are ... I do keep suggesting in my complaints to Uncle Phil that Tesco should send their CS staff and managers for customer service/customer relations training along to Waitrose to see how it should be done.

This is what their staff got last March:

"Shopworkers at the John Lewis Partnership will this week receive a bonus worth nine weeks' pay after a storming year at the department stores and sister chain Waitrose. The 75,000 staff, known as "partners" because they co-own the retail group, are expected to receive a bonus of about 17% of annual pay in this month's pay packet.
All staff – from chairman Charlie Mayfield down to Saturday shelf-stackers – receive the same percentage payout and it comes after one of the most successful years in the partnership's history."

No wonder the staff are polite and always smiling and dont shout Oihhhhh across the tills to the customers.

Perhaps Phil should take a leaf out of Charlie's book ....

Blimey! *requests an application form from the local JL Home store*

Just before I go & do "those things that must be done".

I usually go to sleep with the talk radio on & last night was no exception between 12 & 1 LBC were asking for people to phone in about Tesco or what is the kindest way to eat a Gingerbread man, most people were phoning in about the latter but they was a woman called Rachel who phoned in about Tesco.

Rachel if you are on here you sounded like a plant from Tesco.

Firstly she was raving about the big Tesco near Gillette Corner (00sterleigh) which is my all time worst Tesco, she thought it marvellous it had two floors, & the fact it had a World Foods aisle (didn't say if she actually bought anything in that aisle) also that it sold packaged Halal meat which looked so much nicer than the way Halalmeat is usually sold (Obviously hasn't heard they have a Halal butcher at Bovine Bridge but no regular butchers counter) again she didn't say if she bought any.

She has 4 children & sometimes on Saturday night takes them for a 2 hour outing to Tesco because its so nice & the cafe is really good (I doubt you can but anything to eat up there on a Saturday night !) its just wonderful

She likes the fact the staff are drawn from the community (?) & she sees the same faces & in the freezing cold its nice to see the trolleymen who may have learning difficulties but she feels they are well looked after by Tesco

Then started muttering about villages campaigning about not having a Tesco but a store in the Chilterns by no means the biggest is the most profitable as the villagers travel to use it & the car park is always full.

Next time I go to Tesco especially Gillette Corner I'd better have whatever she's on before I go :rotfl::mad:

How lovely not to live in the real world, getting threatened in the car park because you dare to question someone in a disabled space who has stopped to use their phone & have a fag, the manager didn't want to get involved and told me I would have to phone the police, scanners no working, taken away the only one left disconnected, price labels NEVER in the right place or not there, a notice saying because the printer has broken the prices haven't been changed so no DTD today I could go on all day .............

    Hi, everyone.
I too suffered from tennis elbow and had loads of injections, which at first worked but eventually made no difference,so I had the op.
Absolutely brilliant afterwards, no problems at all, so if you are given the chance of having it done, go for it!! :)

When they strapped mine up they used micropore tape that tore my skin because Im allergic to it (I didnt know it at the time)..
You can buy a plastic and elastic support to put on it.. I cant remember what they call it now, I bought it off the net after my doctor advised to get one. I use that now when I do some painting or if I feel it when Im doing too much I put it on and it does help..

Ive just searched the net and its down the same line as this...

I never got any sympathy from my OH when I had it to begin with, until he had it 2 years ago.... needless to say, he didnt get any sympathy back!!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It's a sort of thing, if youve never had it yourself, you dont realise how painful it is..
