    Hello all :hello:

Just had a very quick flick through the last page and I am really upset about HC's departure but I think that what he says is true. If we keep this thread the way that it is now, even if it isn't closed down, it will become a very unhappy place and a certain happy chappy, who is hopefully lurking in the background will also be unhappy along with the rest of us. I think it's really sad and unfortunate but I think that if we let the dust settle and move the thread on a little, in the spirit this thread often has, then hopefully this will be a much happier place when we (fingers crossed) welcome HC back :)

I'm going to go back and catch up properly now.

    I hope everyone's ok :A

Back from Mr T's, whoopsies completely useless, lots of them but reduced by a few pence!

Sale has started (at the bottom of the seasonal aisle in my local), currently being stocked up, lots of toys appearing as well as some household stuff.

I got a laundry bundle (pegs, basket, smalls hanger and line) for 75p and 2 pack-mate travel space saving bags for 27p each, both had the SELs at this price.

I had so many Motherly rows and clips as a young kid for eating the jelly straight off the block ...memories .,thank goodness the bruises have gone .

I still do that! I have my standards though, it has to be Hartley's orange or nothing!

  • does anyone agree that a new 11+ thread might be a good idea...fresh start away from all the bad feeling etc, and a chance for everyone to 'chat' about what we normally do, albeit more than a little subdued....just a suggestion as I'm sure a certain person just wants all the tit-for-tat (well intentioned or not) to just stop....
and now I'll go feed my little meerkat and hope for better things for 'our family' later :)

Yesterday I made those Tesco Mary Berry Cupcakes & followed the recipe exactly just substituting lemon juice for brandy as suggested. Don't like them at all, did anyone else think what is basically fruit cake is a little weird with lemon buttercream icing? My Mum has put them out for the birds, no takers either :rotfl:

I know there are threads for this question but it would take an age to plough through them all. After the doctor suggesting a cruise to convalese (how do you spell that word!), I'm consider going to Florida with my mother, doc said it would do her good to have a break too, maybe a bit more stressful for me but at least I'd know what she's up to.

I've been to Florida a couple of times & book everything myself no problem (the rest of America even more times) but things are different this time, I had ages to book it & work things out, we took children, this time it will just be us, to go by the end of Feb possibly sooner) my brain & body aren't working too well at the moment & I need a bit of help.

I've had a dabble on kayak.co.uk all these sites have their own advantages & disadvantages.

I can play around with dates & prices etc, what I'm interested in is, a site which will show me who flies from LHR & gets there in the shortest time & arrives early afternoon, none of the flights will be direct I know that but not interested in a 4 hour layover or arriving in the dark, then I can work on dates & prices.

We would rather a villa than a hotel, Kissimmee will do we may not even visit any theme parks due to the walking aspect I'm quite confident on Hwy 192 & driving further afield if we want to go to a specific shop etc but as there is only two of us we only want a two bed villa. Anyone any knowledge of small villas? Fantasy World Villas is an option but you are on top of people there.

Neither of us relish the flight but once there we can do as little or as much as we want.

Can anyone add to the list of things I would need to do?

    Cattery
Passport & Driving Licence in order, new fangled visa thing in place
Book flights, insurance, car hire & villa (Cashback if poss)
    Travellers chqs & currency
    Order special meal for flight
Update on info re Disabled Parking Placard in Florida
    Shopping List
Watch several clips of extreme couponing on youtube :rotfl:

Next OT subject I got a couple of telescopes which eventually I could use towards funding our trip, Ebay is awash with them at present, do I put them on EBay & take what I can get, wait till most of the others are sold or keep them in the hope I will get a few more things for a Boot Sale later in the year, would I get a realistic price for something like that at a boot sale ?
Have you tried the dissboards forum you will get a lot of help on there

Will that apply to your post then for quoting merrywidows...post with the swearing.......shall your post get reported......i think people need to calm down and grow up......tit for tat....and all that......when hc and the mods have both calmed down......maybe it can then be resolved when everyone butts out......

yes I'm quite happy for my post to be removed..along with any others that contain words which have bypassed the filter...like i said, we cant have one rule for one and another for another.

as for calming down and growing up - i wont go over the last days worth of comments but if you took the time to read through them, you'd see that this thread is more than just a Ts bargain thread - for many people it is an outlet for their problems and and a great help with their day to day lives if their 'real' life limits their ability to get out and about/work/meet people.

I dont think the 'growing up' comment was necessary - but then people on here are friendly and have joined forces to 'fight HC's corner' so to speak - if in your eyes thats childish then thats just a reflection on yourself.

and as regards your last comment :rotfl:surely this applies to you too?
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!
