*watches the tumbleweeds go by*
Going to attempt another first today....bolognese in the slow cooker. Not a clue what it'll be like.......but I shall at least give it a shot. If it doesn't work then I guess I won't do it again. Just one problem....have to defrost the mince first.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Got a Crockpot the other day and i'm going to break it in this weekend (just hope i don't break it) have tried to look for online tips but they are all different. It's stewing steak that i will be cooking, do i put all the veg at the bottom with the meat on top and do i brown the meat first do i cover it all with stock and how long i have read about 8hrs but is that on high or low and how do you thicken at the end? add bisto? HELP
Hi, check your crockpot as some can be started on the hob, it makes things simpler and less to clean up - I brown my meat in the stoneware pot, add the onions/veg and as someone else suggested have coated meat prior to frying with flour(which i do in a small sandwhich bag to avoid mess) It's nice to add stock cube and ale or stout(guiness) or plain stock with a drop of port and a splash of cream at the very end if your making something very special or fancy a treat. You don't need to add much liquid just try to avoid the temptation to life the lid to keep checking as it takes a good while to recoup the heat. If your adding cream and your stoneware pot can go on the heat - remove your meat and then take straight to hob to add cream and thicken sauce too. Very versitile item and i wouldn't be without mine. There are loads of sites and i think one of the threads on here has recipes with sc at the side(i assume this means slow cooker) hth

Just had a look at my receipt and SA has only put through 8 lots of wipes instead of 9 so only 2 lots of £5.18 discount have come off as BOG2F but not for the 3rd lot. So I have been overcharged on this too but how do I prove now that I did infact buy 9? And the SEL in my store said B2G1F?? Sorry if that is confusing!
Take the eight back for a refund and start again, buying another nine. You can think of the free unscanned one as your reward for returning to the store!0 -
I pressure cook a gammon joint for 12 mins per lb and when it's cooked, coat it in honey and mustard and pop it in the oven for 20 minutes. yum yum!!:)
Hi hope you don't mind me asking - how do you find the pressure cooker - they had 5ltr prestige in asda for 18 quid - is this a good price u think and do you use it lots?? I am naughty at buying gadgets that get stuck in the cupboard!

Just posted this on the main board.
The Rangers Megastore has an offer where you buy a half price home shirt 11/12 with shirt printing (prices start from £14.99 for kids, £19.99 for adults) and you get a free ticket to the Rangers vs Aberdeen match on Sat 21st January.
