Went into Maidstone Boots today, and there was a sign on the Clinique counter about the mascara exchange -

    - You have to bring in a FULL SIZE mascara to exchange, not a travel/sample size mascara.
    - You have to make an appointment (from 14 Jan onwards) and only then will you get your mascara exchanged.

I'm guessing the appointment will consist of them giving you the big sell, and then you'll get your mascara exchanged after that.

The SA was very friendly when I asked about it further, but was adamant that you do have to book an appointment to take advantage of this offer. So unfortunately it's not as simple as it seems - just be aware :)

What does it mean by 'appointment'?

I got a cheap nasty Primark one which I've never thought about trying... They are welcome to it. :)

Usually a "make-up" lesson type appointment. They usually hard-sell you all their other full-price products at the same time.
  • Suddenly doesn't sound like such a good deal :/

This is a good offer, but also good health-wise. Theres lots of info about using old mascaras and the damage it can do to your eyes etc.

But back to the freebie, approx how long did it take for them to run out last year??

    Thanks

I called the Clinique counter in N0rw1ch Chap3lf13ld and was told an appointment was required to get the mascara sample. The rep told me that the appointment is 10 minutes (but I would think it would be as long as possible to try to sell me products). I said I could only stop over my lunch break and didn't have much time. She said as this promotion was so popular last time they insist on appointments. So I don't think it's as straightforward as one might think but I guess it depends on which Boots you go to.
