Then I got an email right after the confirmation asking me to ring e2save up as they need to talk to me about the order, phoned them and they told me O2 wants £75 DEPOSIT for the phone, the money will be taken from my account immediately and will be paid back to me after 6 months. I was stunned as never heard of anything like this before, and I do have a very clearn credit record. So asked the chap why is it and he said he didn't know either it's just one of things that some network does, so wondering if anyone else on this site have heard of it before?
It is O2 CPW asking for this deposit and not O2. If you avoided dealers that connect via O2 CPW it is unlikely you will have this problem.

what e2save is offering is with O2 network, 400mins(anytime any network) and 100 text, they are asking for £35 line rental per month, and 8 months half price line rental through cash back, so it works out £280 for 12 months in total after cash back, and the phone is free.
Exactly the same deal is available at Mobileshop here and they will connect direct with O2 rather than O2 CPW.

Nope it does it directly through the O2 site also, did it the other night, doh

Gonna look at MobileShop though, thanks :)
  • Mobilemole, yeah I have seen the deal on mobileshop, the reason I didn't go for it was..........they charged 10pound fee to port a no to O2 network.....which I can't see why, if other companies can do it for free, sure they can do it too?
  • Thanks computerwoman, but I'm after 12 months contract only which 3 don't have much good deal...the only one comes with free phone is 100pound a month! with 3 months half line rental, still won't add up with quidco's cash back.
  • my first phone I got about 4 years ago now was with e2save they did'nt ask for anything then, but then I went through simply3g and got a phone all with 3 network and they did'nt charge me, then I did the up-grade for free with 3 but you dont get the offers so in december because I kept getting the offer emails I decided to go with e2save again so I could get the offer, but 02 wanted £100 pounds this is because you have never been a customer before, they say you get your money back, but do you, I decided to go with 3 for the up-grade asked them about what deals they have says that I can get a better deal else where, they gave me a free W850i with 1gb storage 12 months contract, 750 mins x network 150 texts 50 video mins 50 photo messages £5 downloads every month and 1/2 price for term of contract so I just pay £17.50 a month, now thats a deal.
