parking ticket from shopping park

We have just received one this morning from civil enforcement for £150

Thing is I arrived at this time and left before after doing the xmas food shop

Then hubby went in the afternoon to go to the shop

The car was at home inbetween

Now I know these are unenforceable and we can ignore them, but it leaves me feeling nervous that this is hanging over me.

I want to check that if we don't pay that it does not go on our credit record.

Can I write to them and tell them to check their facts or is it just best to ignore completely.

Many thanks

  • It cannot possibly affect your credit record unless they take you to court, win, and then you still don't pay up. As Civil Enforcement never go to court this is impossible.
This is a very well known scam where they take the first time in and the last time out over two visits to the car park.
Writing to them is futile and will just encourage them to pester you more. Ignore them.

    many thanks.

I will keep ignoring them and continue to hold my nerve.

Was just worried about the credit agency listing, I wont worry now.

    Thanks again

Edit car colour on letter says Grey we have a dark blue car.

Don't waste your time on them, it is not worth it. Unless you want to refer them to the response in Arkell v Pressdram:D

There is absolutely nothing "hanging over you". Ergo, nothing to feel nervous about.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Thanks! hubby is very calm about it and seems to be relishing a fight if one should crop up

That is how the scam works, by coaxing you out, the smart bunny IGNORES them.

well we are onto the 3rd letter it arrived Friday telling us they will be referring our case to Northampton county court on 6/4/2012 where our total costs including solicitors fees will be £425.

However if we pay now it will be £265

Still holding our nerve but it is a little scary, I know it shouldn't be but it is.

Are we near the end now :(

This template then, which is in the top thread 'PPC letters & threats':

Many people have posted about that one this year - and I haven't seen any mention of a letter after that. And no Court cases either.

Try Googling 'Civil Enforcement ignore fake Court letter' or 'Civil Enforcement ignore pink claim form' or summat and you should see other people's posts on forums who got this letter months ago and lived to tell the tale! :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
