Slow but busy day today - bit of the cheap gammon in the slow cooker with some homebrew elderberry wine and bits and bobs, lovely tea.
Took the kids to a big softland type place where they ran around like loonies for the day and then finished off with a bit of shopping at Sainsburys where we managed to save 12 pounds with coupons and money off vouchers....20% off the bill.

Now sat down with a mug of tea!
Thanks to advice from people here I am debt free - thank you to you all! Now working on the mortgage!

    Evening all,

"I put petrol in the car this morning & bought a loaf of Tiger bread, that will do us for today for meals"

Hester...how do you combine the petrol and tiger bread for dinner??

Bramble....congratulations, will be thinking of you and your family on Monday.

    Uolypool.....grrr!

Beth....thinking of you over weekend and on Monday.

sistercas...thanks for swede information....we love it, having some to-morrow so will try the micro...sounds so convenient.

Cold here to-day, spent early afternoon looking at houses with DD4, hoping that she will think long and hard about purchase, she has a limited amount of money to spend so don't want her over-extending herself with too high a mortgage, was suggesting that she go for a 35 year one to minimise payments and that she could then overpay if things were better than expected, she is convinced that she would have to pay penalties if she tried to do this....must make enquiries myself, it seems to be something frequently mentioned here, but that may be just UK, banks here seem to be of opinion that they can make their own rules and seems to be frequently the case.

We picked up OH on way back and went out for dinner....DS3 was also here when we came back so persuaded him to join us...pity we didn't bring him on house hunt as he had lots of good advice to offer. Dinner was nice in local pub if not very MS...planned on going to Chinese but they were not open until later and we were hungry!

Some washing done and drying on airer....cant be bothered trying to dry on line at present.

Not sure what to do about hair....its now long enough to put up, which was what I intended to do when I decided to grow it.....but seem to have lost the knack, could do it in 60s but maybe its the face that no longer suits it....can see myself having a tantrum on the subject some morning and having it shaved...doubt if the face would suit that either!!

May take down the tree to-morrow, trouble is that I need some of the younger generation here to put decorations and lights in attic, OH professes to be no longer able to get up there....might try it myself to really p him off as he constantly remarks on my weight and stiffness.....

Really need to go and do something, as pc was sooo slow earlier it took me ages to check what I needed to do. Hope that you can all stay safe and well

  • Hello to everyone
    Congratulations to Bramble !:T
Managed to wash LO’s cot bedding today so that been done and is now back on. OH also fitted a WTP night light to the side of his cot… hope he likes it.
Homemade SB tonight which always goes down well with OH.
Might have to get OH to pay next door a visit and ask them very politely not to feed our dogs over the fence!!! Not very impressed as the pup out of the three has been pestering to go outside all day:mad:
Got a busy paperwork day planned tomorrow involving meal plans and shopping lists for our house and the MIL.
House is in order so there really isn’t much for us to do TBH so very pleased at the moment.:)
Have a nice evening everyone xxx

It's a lovely poem - very comforting I think. This is an alternative however it was read at Alma's funeral on Coronation Street so it always puts me in mind of that! although it too is lovely
Do not stand at my grave and weep,I am not there; I do not sleep.I am a thousand winds that blow,I am the diamond glints on snow,I am the sun on ripened grain,I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hushI am the swift uplifting rushOf quiet birds in circling flight.I am the soft starlight at night.Do not stand at my grave and cry,I am not there; I did not die. What ever you decide I hope you find strength to get through it x
