    Hi all

Hope everyone has had a good day. My ironing pile has gone and I have been to the gym, so I'm now sat in my pjs keeping DS company as she revises for her English GCSE next week. Left over curry for tea and maybe a cheeky glass of wine later.
    take care all

Cheers everyone, yeah he is fine, shaken and VERY quiet but fine. Think its going to take him along time to bounce back from this.Police came and took his statement , he didn't want to mention the friend who he was with
name, no idea why , luckily I knew it so gave it to the police. It was heartbreaking to watch him have to go through it again, he struggled at times. But something doesn't ring true IYKWIM , it was almost as if he was covering for someone. Think the police got that impression as well . Have been speaking to Andrew on the sly who wasn't out with him last night and he said that he hadn't even told him which isn't like them two but he said he will do some detective work and see if he can find anymore out about what happened.Nothing I can do now about it except for support him and be there for him but god help the person if I find them , they will wish the police had got to them first. Well that is in my mind, in reality I know I would tell the police and let them deal with the Scum . Right I'm off as feel myself welling up .

Uolypool what a terrible thing to happen. Doesn't matter if he is covering up for someone, no-one should be treated like that. Hope the police get to the bottom of it.

soz only just got back on the 'puter but what JG said

make sure you pierce the skin several times , then bung in the microwave for about 25 mins , when its cooked you can simply scoop it out , no mashing needed it comes out beautiful and fluffy , i add a knob of butter and black pepper and it tastes so much nicer as its not watered down from boiling :D

    Morning All!

Slow day today, have to get DS to do his homework! They just get so much, I have no idea how I am going to get him to do it all on the weeks when he's at his dad's at the weekend! It's becomming a right struggle because he still needs some parental supervision and my Ex doesn't provide it...! But 3 peices of Homework, plus reading and timestables is a lot!

    !
I so agree with you JG. I am an Infant teacher and we only expect the children to read at home if parents have time, but I know when they go to the Junior school all the parents have a hard time getting them to do the homework. Surely the point is that the children do it but some of it is so intense they need parental help. I think they need to do independent work at Senior School but they work so hard at school these days I think they need time to relax and play at home.
OK rant over have had a busy day walked dog and then took our little old cat to the vet seems she has tooth problems, we now have to give her antibiotics, that will be fun!!!!!! We actually managed to make a meal plan for the week so went and did all shopping, hopefully won't need any top ups this week so should stay within budget(fingers crossed)
Hope everyone has had a good day-great news bramble, hope monday goes ok.
Hugs to all who need them.

    Morning All
The inside of the house seems fine (just cold as we left when there was a raging gale and a power cut) but there are loads of slates missing off the roof and some of the flashings are waving about in the wind. Will need to see how much it will cost to fix or should I go through insurance? Not claimed on insurance before, will it mean a higher premium next year? Any help would be appreciated.
Have just read your post , you should claim on house insurance, when we first moved here we used to lose tiles every year and we always claimed, didn't notice any increase in premiums. good luck with getting it fixed.
uolypool sorry to hear about your son, hope he feels better soon.
