Okey doke gals here it is..alternatives exist on the Old Style Board I think..but this one was from Bitter & Twisted I think
Laundry Gloop Recipe
Collect some 4 pint milk containers or large plastic squash/drinks bottles with screw top lids. I went hunting in the recycling bins down our road!:)
Grate 1 bar of washing soap eg. Fairy or Sunlight or own brand and add to a saucepan of 1.5l boiling water.
Mix with a wooden spoon and add in 0.5 cup of washing soda crystals and 0.5 cup of borax (fab stuff..and an excellent stain remover (also handy for getting rid of ants nests but I digress..:rotfl:)
Keep on the heat, stirring thoroughly until completely dissolved.
Add to a bucket (you may need 2) with around 8.5l of hand hot water and stir. Keep stirring otherwise will separate (mine has on occasion and I just shook it up before using so not end of world). Maybe add in a few drops of an essential oil if you like..then decant into your bottles and use. You will need somewhere to store the bottles - they practically filled my cupboard under the sink last time.
B&T suggested 100ml for a load, so does 100 washes? But to be honest I just used to put a slug of it into the dispenser. No measuring for me but to eke it out you probably should. So 100 washes for the price of a few items which in the case of borax and washing soda are great household cleaners in their own right!
Worked well. Will do it again.
See you laters!!

Hi all
Just popping in! WUL..well I never. Nope, please share yours! I am currently a Meth@d user and seem to be getting through stacks so this might be just the thing. Can you post the recipe pls DFW?
Blimey it's freezing here..I simply refuse to have the heating on but have to say it's been a close run thing. Sitting hunched over a PC for a day makes me feel very very cold!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Does that lot fit into 5 x 2l bottles, or did you need 6? That's a lot to store, but I guess it could go into the garage. I'd need to sneakily dispense it into a commercial branded container to pass it by my DH who is very fussy and (insert drum roll) very domesticated about loading and hanging-up the washing. Pretty good at ironing too, but won't do sheets as he isn't bothered about whether they are creased or not, whereas I am a "princess and the pea" type of gal.
On another topic, have you seen this, it made me cry: http://agirlcalledjack.com/2012/07/30/hunger-hurts/What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Oh, and meant to say, Brizzle please prioritise your expenses my dear! You aren't a cash flow resource for your employer :-)What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Satchmo you are so right..£1.5k worth of expenses posted off today:eek: Will get it into my account before next payment due though so not end of the world.
Probably 6 bottles...and I think he will notice...it's not as thick as commercial stuff...but maybe water it down , half and half:rotfl:
Shattered. Really tired today but not sure why!

What a depressing thought..but it seems that way just now.
May be the woodburner for me again this eve!! Oh well at least it's not adding to a gas bill :T
Have a good eve folks. Ate my Girl Called Jack rip off burgers this eve..so to use up what I had instead of what Jack suggested, it was red onion, kidney beans, red and green pepper burgers with cumin but sadly no coriander. Very nice. Salad and a muffin as well. DDs ate theirs slathered in ketchup, I had mine with mayo. All very nice and so cheap:T Have to say though that her portion control is WAY smaller than mine...so you may have to increase the quantities if you use her recipes...I certainly would.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
