Brizzled - I'm guessing you're the same side as me and if they put the bridge fee up, I'm not going to use it! Many moons ago, they actually had to reduce the bridge fee from 20p to 15p as they had too much money! Mind you, that was the early 90's.

I live in a certain coastal town known locally as the largest cul de sac in England

    Hey everyone

Good re the borax Kerri, u won't look bacK!!!

Dangers..nice to read your post but fear I confused you..I live in town but do use the bridge if I am heading into Clifton and then out towards Somerset etc, or on way back from the true South West..

Public enquiry ongoing on whether they should be allowed to put it up to £1 each way..now that's steep!!!

Straight down the 369 and across the motorway.....

It's known as the largest cul de sac as they have built thousands of new homes in the last few years and we really have only the one road out onto the m/way roundabout.

    Is that enough clues?

Mrs B, so sorry to hear that you are drowning in work, that's not good news .:(

I skip lunch constantly then make up for it with big portions at dinner time or hit the choccie biccies. Its something I really need to sort out.

Hope you get your errands done today xx

Brizzled - yup, you've got the right place! Mind my DH works up the m/way and I work in our town so the train won't be helpful to us. It certainly would be good to have it. I remember they did a steam train special, must have been in the 80s, from TM to our town.

Right, best get ready for work - let's hope the sun stays out long enough today.

Good stuff dangers..and the sun did come out..weyhey!!

    So today..

    - only just stopped working but did sneak a lunchbreak...and treated myself to a sit down lunch , wonderful coffee little quiche and salad..I went in for an emergency coffee to stave off hunger pangs until I got home..but then though f*ck it..and spent £6.07..because I am worth it and the shop is worth giving the business to:D. (Also first time for everything, my breakfast was eaten standing up and my dinner was spent in the car, eating from a plastic box, waiting for DD1 whilst working!!)
    - OH earnt best part of £1.2k on OT and freelance work..am still in shock..maybe thats why I bought myself lunch:rotfl: Its a fab result. He is away so relying on skype messges but he's v pleased too. Have agreed to put against mortgage as we will need to pay tax...so its there when the demand comes through but even so..am thrilled:T.
    - minimising grocery spends is going well..and veggie meals working out well after initial nonsense:eek: from the girls..(reminded them about their environmental duties and that shut them up!) but relenting with spag bol tomorrow. I feel healthier already..but wil just grab a sneaky white wine in a moment as a reward for stopping working;)
    - located present for new baby (not mine!) in a stash in the loft that I had forgotten I had..result! Just need to post now!

On the less good side, DD1 has completely outgrown her wet suit and lost her rash vest. Booger. More expense. And because I didn't get her to try it on or locate it before we go away for 2 nights (without OH sob..but am getting used to being a single mum..know how you feel Mrs PG!!) I have not begged, borrowed or even stolen replacements. I can sense that the chances are that I will buy them this weekend at the seaside. Not a great plan...or she just gets wet and very cold. We shall see:o

Usual Tilly Tidies ritual. Wish I owed less..beginning to bug me again (but I know thats the point!!:rotfl:)

Think thats it folks. Adios xx

  • Hi Brizzle, I know exactly what you mean about the millstone, but at least we are chipping away at them :T

Well done Mr Brizzle - great news on the extra cash.

I can't remember how old your kids are but I think I have a spare wet suit - not in the UK - when I'm next at the house, I'll check the size and if it's any good you could always keep it as a spare - unless your kids are grown ups:o

Sounds like you've had a mad day and definitely deserved wine :):)
