Hi Brizzle, well done for having the holiday conversation. Never easy but it's done now - your baking sounds fantastic. I couldn't persuade Mr T to bake a cake yesterday and we will be out soon for the rest of the day, so I feel cake deprived. I will imagine I am eating me of your Chelsea buns instead.

Thanks Tilly..I think I like to bake to feel like I am providing for my family as I am away working so much..misplaced guilt??? Who knows! Yummy though and thankfully due to a fidget gene we are all pretty slim
So the good news:
- van hire went well. We will have £371 for hire. Got £50 for airport transfers too
- £123 due back into account from overpaid childcare fees from After School Club
- off to a NT property for the afternoon. Its free as we are members. Such a gorgeous day can't waste it and will zoom off after lunch here (planning a NSD!) and DD1 gets back from Remembrance Sunday service
So good start to the day!:T
Still need to decide however what to do about CHB...am tempted to just have it taken off at source from Jan 2013 as no desire to go through SA again. Is anyone out there in the same position? What are you doing?

What is it with us Mums and Guilt ? I think its my middle name. Although unlike you I am rarely away working, as Mr PG is often away as you know I feel the need to make up for him not being here instead, so run myself ragged to make up for it. Or trying to at least !
Hope you enjoy your afternoon out together in the sunshine.

Hi all
Well have had a lovely day:
- made some PADs. Not a lot but a few. Checked account and moved around a few standing orders. Cancelled another charity one
- had a LSD at a NT property. Gorgeous. Everyone really enjoyed it in the sunshine, spent about 3 hours just walking around. Did buy an RRP £17 recipe book there for slow cooker recipes for £4.99. So plus some milk, that was it for buys, so a LSD. And am already planning to use some recipes for next week's meal plan. Friday and Sunday if I recall!!:D
- have felt pretty in tune with the family today so less guilty ( is it the fresh air Mrs PG?)
- sitting here with the woodburner on. Girls have done homework..always a relief! Have the HM bread on and the solar panels made £1.92 today!! So all good. Must chase timing for the payment in though.
So tomorrow need to write to MBNA and contact energy supplier re the FIT payments. But that's tomorrow..currently CBA to do anything but read diaries!!:rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Brizzle.....I've come over from GL's diary, but confess I am a reader rather than a poster!! What drew me into your diary was your honesty about having a high income but still struggling to manage......we are in a similar boat, although I'm a SAHM. DH earns enough for us to lose our CB, but only just and we will notice it when it's gone/clawed back.
Anyway, I have ploughed through your diary over the last few days and wanted to say hello, and well done!! Our mortgage is a simialr amount to yours, but until I go back to work (I'm a teacher) we cannot hope to realistically overpay it. Now our youngest is at school I am looking, but my DH is away alot, home and abroad, and whatever I do HAS to fit into our unscheduled set up, with minimal childcare costs.
Right, off to the school run in a mo! Good luck, keep posting, and I shall see you from time to time on GLs diary thread to!!

Mrs B, its sounds as though you had a lovely day on Sunday, and yes I think the fresh air definitely helped blow those guilty feelings away !
Maybe we should stay outside more often !
Know the homework feeling well, it is always a huge relief when the dreaded homework is out of the way isnt it ?. I think all homework should be banned at the weekends !
Hope you are well xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Rae and Mrs PG
Thanks for popping by. Rae- its a constant source of amazement to me how mch cash we get through. Feels like compared to many people I know we are pretty frugal..except for holidays (budget skiing ones but even so) and we have a big mortgage to service. We have also had some years of my earning big bonuses...that made a HUGE difference to our ready cash. But no longer. And thats a better WLB but even so... Interestingly OH told me last night that DD1 had said she didnt want anything for Xmas..now some of that is her wanting to please us (and thats a whole different issue :-( ) but some of it is because theydont want for anything (oh and of course that they are well bought up and a credit to their parents!! ;-)) I didnt get much as a child. Dad was a jobbing teacher (didnt want a management job as he loved the classroom and teaching and Mum was a SAHM until I was about 13. I think some of my attitude comes from wantingmy girls to experience life enhancing stuff eg. Skiing that Inever had...
Anyway have formally asked for another day per week paid at work.am working it anyway so figure I have little to lose...
Away again but back home early tomorrow. Sorry for any typos...typing on a smartphone over lonely dinner in a Premier Inn!! Not exactly the high life ;-)

Hi brizzle,
Got to page 10 and am loving your diary!! Youve done so well at decluttering- cant wait to read more.....

Thanks GL...hmm... Have more to go. the girls' rooms are full of potential for decluttering I feel:rotfl:
Rae...having an OH who works away and small ones is hard. What I think I resent is being the one who has to shoulder all the responsibility when he is away. Sole parent as it were. We have an au pair again but at the moment ( and I live in hope!) I feel that I am a parent to her too...now in my own indomitable way
I have let her know that I cant cope with being a mum to her as well
so we shall see. She has been here since August so I think I have cut some slack. Her first time being an au pair so some is understandable. And lots of lovely things about her...but....anyway.
Is anyone else on here obsessed by Twitter..I never thought I could distill anything into 140 characters or less...but seems I can! And have a real capacity for retweeting!!
