Great news on Mr Brizzle's job :T Hope you had a nice time away xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks all. Came back to a seriously mad mad time at work. First time I have switched off in around a week. But its all money earnt so I am determined not to complain. Very fortunate to have well paid work so need to make sure I remember that.
In MS news... back to TCB with a vengeance...been very useful when booking hotels for work. Had a payout and due to get another..current total at £25.
Extravagant but a lifesaver is our cleaner..she has been visiting for 7 years I think and is truly brilliant. But she is moving to London. So rather than take up a replacement offer of a friend of hers am planning to do it all myself and then after exams DD1can do it... I have been really conscious that its money we should be throwing at the holiday CC, but its also her livelihood and she supports her family abroad with her earnings. But this is an ideal excuse to change things up a bit...and if DD1 wants to live here after exams she can do her bit(Will be interesting to see how this goes down.. :rotfl: will keep you posted!)
Money spends really low as been working too hard. OH says he has been using up the freezer contents :j whilst I have been away. Will do some reconciliation soon. Suspects OH has been frugal but need to check YNAB.
Lodger may move on in the Spring. Next steps being discussed. Am reasonably keen on AirB*B but OH less so. Think DD1 could do the changeovers? Less certainty of income than before but maybe good enough if prices correctly? Reckon could charge £24 p.n. This way we could also block out times when we want the room. Any suggestions folks?
Doing the TTs. Making a difference. Love it - easy to do and a small step every day.
Hope everyone is doing well and thanks so much for popping by xxMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

No stopping you Brizzle good work on the cleaner, I agree about livelihood, we only stopped our as I knew her employer could fill the hours elsewhere, we didn't employ her direct so she was ok.
Airbnb is a great idea. We've used it a couple of times and booked our summer holidays in Spain through it this year. At least you could block out days you need it. £24 is a bargain, I'd stay :rotfl:0 -
- for you PF itd be £0!!!! Stay any time!
Good to know. Think we may pursue it as its more flexible.
Have a great Friday. Hope youre well xMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Lou..how did it go??
Have just spent ages on YNAB reconciling...feel very productive and dare I say it I have given myself a big pat on the back...and we are paying off the holiday CCs well and also building up a EF which we have never had before. Will be interesting to see what the savings rate is this month - must remember to do it. We are also reining back on another holiday we had planned this summer and thinking of a much cheaper option which is probably the right thing to do..but we are scoping everything out at the moment so we can prioritise that if we do decide to go for it. So very conscious of my DD1 soon heading off to being a 'proper' adult...and very keen to fill the memory bank before the ground shifts... I can forsee some tough times ahead adjusting tbh
Watched the Revenant finally yesterday eve with the woodburner on at full blast...blimey. I did feel grateful for my first world problems like my amazing cleaner shipping off to LondonAmazing film but at times a very hard watch.
Today I have:
- budget set for the next 3 months. Have set a stretch target but its doable. Will be looking for some side hustles though and maybe some more Bay of E
- defrosted HM bolognaise for tomorrow's dinner...this evening my MIL is making us tea
- had my hair coloured - bliss and have lost the very unattractive two tone look :rotfl:
- DD2 has used her own money for a trip to town, brought very expensive trainers and I am thanking the lord that my kids know not to ask, and indeed, don't...
- DD1 revised this morning and then trotted off for another shift at the shop..she's a good worker that one
- OH has been zooming around doing yet more chores and also cleaned the motorhome..bless himits never a nice job, especially when its cold
Tomorrow I will:
- meal plan for the week largely using up freezer and store cupboard plus our usual veg and milk box etc so no extras
- send my CV out to a couple of possible opportunities
- enjoy time with family and friends - already paid for too
And in other news we will give Air B8B a go we have decided after the summer. If we don't like it we will stop, but worth a go and we like the idea of it being flexible.
Had best get a shimmy on. Have a great weekend all
