I know Ig and that's why your/Gandhi's words in your sig are definitely needed now, she needs us to act. Don't wait but do something now.
I have just given substantial donations (sod the budget on this point) to UNHCR and also a campaign by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants for their I Am An Immigrant campaign.. Recognising the positive contributions they and their families make to our countries.
Not very much but I wanted to do something fairly immediately, however small.,
About to make about 6 beds now. That'll put me in a fine mood!! (Not!)MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Feel v low today. A woman doing her job, with such a strong moral compass died in a horrific senseless way yesterday...feel so so sad. Juxtaposed with Farage's 'poster' just makes me feel sick.
So...what will I do today..
- hug my husband and kids just that little bit more often and tightly
- up my contribution to charities working in Syria/the refugee areas nearby and further afield
- clean my house so I feel calm and like I have achieved something and then that picks up item 5. from my 'to do' list yesterday
Hugs to everyone...we are a powerful group on here of strength and positivity...lets keep it that way and be a force for good
Xx
I'm also feeling low and also helpless in the face of such a waste of a purposeful life, so I shall steal your ideas. Thanks for giving the name of a Syrian organisation. I too shall make a contribution. A little one, but we can only do what we can do. Off to do some cleaning too....Thank youIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

feeling so very sad for the terrible loss of such a good woman. It has spurred me on to go and do some sorting of all the donations that we have for Calais. Another load leaving here very soon. And I will follow your lead and give more to the 'I am an immigrant campaign'. I wonder how many of us are descended from immigrants. I am, and proud of it.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Not a good day at all.
Cant stop thinking of her littlies.
That is why we must try to make everyday count.

Thanks all. She'd be proud of ordinary people getting on and making a difference and standing up for our strength in our diversity. Pooh - that's great. The conditions in Calais and the other camps still seem dire. DiA - thanks so much. I intend to add those organisations to my regular contributions from now on. I was intending to 'tithe' more anyway. Keen to get to 2% of my gross household income anyway (following the Muslim pillar) and this is a kick in the pants to do it.
Beanie - I know and although mine are so much older I think that's one of the reasons it's so completely devastating is that she was a working woman in her 40s living simply on a boat (which is tricky even without littlies!) trying to make the world a better place. Anyone's life is important of course but some folks are real role models and she was one of them. I will be talking about her with my girls this weekend.
Onto more minor matters:
- can't be doing with the Soapnuts so they are on Freecycle and I went and bought 1/2 price Ar?el. Giving in? Yes possibly but OH was desperate at the state of his white shirts!
- 6 IKEA synthetic filled pillows on wall ready for collection.. We have so many and I only like feather filled so as they don't give me joy they are gone. Must update sig.
- OH spent about an hour mending a freezer compartment door.. Probably saved us over £30 in not getting a spare. Clever man :TMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I am taking OH out to dinner tonight to say thank you for all he does. Fathers Day is low key in our house so he'll like this ideaMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Just seen the fund set up in Jo Cox's memory - raising money for
- the Royal Voluntary Society- to combat loneliness - especially in her constituency
- White Helmets - civilians who rescue the injured and dead in Syria - so absolutely in the thick of the carnage
- Hope Not Hate - battling extremism here in UK
Worthy causes. Have also just made a pledge to a grassroots initiative here in my city too. It's the day for it. Has to be.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
