    Thanks all for popping by

I will drop that recipe in after I have made it this weekend.

Exams going Ok...another one that was better than expected she thinks. 2 more to go and she's done. Also possible success in finding a prom dress so hoping that's a weight off her mind...I didn't have one but it's a big thing now isn't it? Key rite of passage.

The last two days have been good MSE wise:

    - TTs and LSDs..not NSDs but LSDs
    - reclaimed some PC survey money via PayPal
    - quiet evenings sitting in garden with OH chatting and enjoying the calm
    - have started making my own bacon!! V excited. Curing a piece of belly pork now...should be ready in about 5 days
    - made the lovely GP pineapple cake. Worked out great, v moist and tasty. Thanks
    - solar panels have been working well, which is a relief. Must put in another FIT reading this weekend tho
    - HM pizza yesterday eve, using JO's recipe...probably best I have ever done :)

Quiet weekend planned.. Which I am looking forward to. Revision support, maybe a movie using my Nectar points and some good food. Bliss.

    Xx

Ha ha, not mine lovely - apparently a recipe that has been around for yonks - aka 'never fail fruit cake' :D I take it that it is equally as successful if bits of pineapple are left in, rather than blitzing to an absolute pulp as I did. Definitely going to remember that for next time i make it - and there will be a next time.

We had pizza last night too - Leanne Brown's Fast Pizza dough recipe and a topping of mixed peppers (h3ron f00ds 2 x 400g bags for £1). OK, but I seemed to be cooking for ages (made some veggie sausage rolls too) so it rather took the edge off when it eventually came time to eat it :o

All sounding good with the brizzles - have a great weekend.

Ha GP! I had thought I did a previous nod to Mrs CD but maybe I forgot!

Garden relieved to see a little rain., although more like mizzle really so think watering may still be needed this weekend

I also KM'd 21 yes 21 un needed dish cloths and tea towels. Still have tonnes but just shows you. They are in a rag bag waiting to be used for messy jobs.. But the cupboard and boxes under the kitchen sink looks tonnes better. Speaking of which I forgot to say I cleaned my oven yesterday! (And used some old tea towels to clean up afterwards ;) !!) Whoop!! Have to say gentle treatments were not working so some toxic foam from the local hardware store was brought into play. Not perfect but damn sight better!

OH in good mood after cycle this morning and definitely better than yest eve when he had just sat down to find water pooling through the newly painted kitchen ceiling.. Yep the sealant has gone around the bath. So grubby Brizzles family for the next 24 hrs. DD2 has already been next door to the neighbours for a shower. (I am v grateful for our community on our street at times like this!)

Planning to make elderflower cordial this weekend too. We get through gallons and I have got my mum who always makes it to send me the recipes through. 4 options duly arrived today in post with lovely notes about which came from whom.
Childhood memories as to names and places.. Nice link to my past

Have a great weekend folks. Hope you manage to peg out Alice :)

Nope, sweet. You definitely nodded MrsCD :D What I meant was, i think it is a recipe that has been around for a while even before MrsCD posted. The recipe version that I made was in pounds and ounces, so that puts a good 40 years on it :D

:( to leaky baths - water gets everywhere so quickly and/or silently doesn't it? :(

Yes it's a keeper. The recipes I have just been sent for elderflower champagne and cordial are all in imperial. Had to dig out a guide to make sure I had enough citric acid..!

Yes think it's been going on for a few weeks, not helped by my kids preponderance for spending (to my mind!) fairly substantial times abluting.. Think when they are mums themselves ;) they will realise what even a luxury a short shower is!! ;) (have you managed one without a LO in tow yet??!)

I recall going back to work partly so I could go to the loo in peace!! :rotfl: (Altho having to pump milk in same place was less fun.. Hope in most places things are better now.. Pops off to see what facilities there are in Shirebrook and see if the MPs asked Mr Ashley about that!)

Do you have a modulator switch that sends any excess 'tricity to heat your hot water? Sunshine has heated our hot water tank since March........amazing!! We are struggling to convince our supplier our apparent consumption is so low.........they know we have panels of course and they are a 'green' company..weird! They are sending out someone especially to check the meter:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi we don't have a tank so that's not a flyer unfortunately. I s'pose you are in Wales ;) but even so it does seem bizarre.

V happy with our panels - wish Go&d Energy paid a little faster tho but understand delay is partly to do with OFGEM.

Clouded over here now though and washing out. Feeling optimistic clearly!

Off for an impromptu BBQ at neighbours.. Any excuse for a party in Brizzle it seems.. And no football has been promised!! Cordial smells lush...beef stew also. Have modified recipe slightly...will report back.

Beginning to really rain..BBQ in jeopardy? We shall see..

Hi Brizzle - all sounding good in your world I'm pleased to hear :) My DS works in Shirebrook and he often sees Mr Ashley paying a flying visit to his factory - literally - in his helicopter.

Well that's the life...although I have to say being a public pariah and up in front of MPs wouldn't be my idea of fun...so maybe he can keep his helicopter rides ;).

Family live in Derbyshire...but nearer Derby itself. Lovely county. Like Notts too.

Setting off for the Barbie...wish us luck!

Have relisted the room for a 7 day week and also offered M-F if anyone prefers....not our preferred route, but we have decided we would prefer the cash. It will be tough logistically but it's the right price to pay. If we are to pay this mortgage off in 5 we need to make some tough decisions.

You'll be the first to hear if we get a sniff!! :)
