    Tilly..that recipe...

Fry up garlic and onion in oil. Add in some chorizo, cut fairly small, in chunks. Fry a little so it colours the oil. Then add in a handful of basmati or other non risotto rice just to get it covered in the oil. Then half fill the pan with stock (I use Marigold veggie stock powder for everything :)) and then add in large chunks of peeled chopped raw potato and then bring to boil and then simmer until rice and potato are cooked.

When all cooked, then season and serve. I didnt use paprika, but suspect she would have done. I made the last one more of a stew than my lodger, (I added more rice), would have done, hers was more of a soup. But either way it's lush, cheap and so so simple. I haven't looked at her recipe, written it from memory, so apologies to any Basque readers!! My DDs adore it.

They are fab, debs...simply fab. I treated myself to two, yes two TTs today :D :rotfl:

    Quiet day today:

    - £8 spent on groceries but in my defence they included items such as juniper berries at a whole 45p from my local Polish shop :) and some bits and pieces including Guinness for a very fine beef topside hot pot. It was lush.
    - listed 3 items for Bay of E. V swift, not great photos though, so will see if go. Put on for v low starting price, every little helps though and think our good stuff has gone now. Will list study stuff on Amazon but use OH's account so as he's out this eve that has to wait
    - woodburner on using up off cuts..but getting low, will need to pay for a log delivery soon..pricey, but only happens about once a year
    - 2 TTs (see above!)
    - decluttered another 10 items..mainly to bin or CS will update sig
    - paid off CC in full that we are using to build up hotel reward points.
    - OH out for eve, but bought ticket ages ago and no other spends planned

A nice weekend. Sleep needed soon as busy week ahead

    Morning Brizzle:)
I have been wondering about opening an account where the bank rounds up debit card payments and puts loose change into it - I guess that's similar to a TT?

Hope your busy week is going well :)

    Hello lovely peeps

Its been busy (can you tell?? :rotfl:) but its all gone well and I can breathe again. Promising myself that I will take the next few weeks a little easier.

Yes NOA..think it probably is. Only thing I would say is that there is something rather delightful about doing the TT yourself..and you can do it even when you've not made a debit card transaction...unless of course you get a reward for opening the account ;)

    In good news...

    - TTs going well. Usually one a day, sometimes more
    - decluttered some more. Lots of paper went today - whoop
    - meal planning going well, although think another Mr L or A shop is overdue..we are beginning to run out of basics - but wont beat myself up as we last went on 1 Feb
    - DD1 coloured in the first 'monthly mortgage payment brick' on our chart :)
    - work going well and think if it was simply up to my boss he would extend my contract - so all reassuring even if I am quietly still continuing to cook up a Plan B

    In less good news..

    - not a peep on recent listings on Bay of E. Think I may try to sell them one more time and then give to CS.
    - can't find my V5 so had to spend £25 on a new one :(
    - I am beginning to think hot weather holiday thoughts....I really want something to look forward to this summer :( May need to take a good hard look at myself in the mirror.
    - family stuff coming up over next few weeks..all lovely celebrations but will cost money in fuel etc. So need to adjust the budgets on YNAB to cover...

Quiet day today and not working so cooking and OH is starting decorating :) Lovely man.

Freezing here but at least its dry. Really want to put the heating on though and its only early afternoon!

Did some top up shopping in the local SM (not L or A as didn't want to use car) and got some nice YS items.

All good on the MSE front - need to keep some pressure up on reconciling the YNAB pots, but its all doable. I am just getting ISA and pension alerts through and so want to top them up even more, but broadly any extra (ie. I pay into them most months) needs to go towards the mortgage and I need to stick to that rule.

TTs done but screened out of a PC survey :( No more movement on Bay of E :(

    Have a good day
