  • Not at all..VAT is a new one to me, but one I need to get to grips with ASAP

Hope everyone has a sunny day. Busy week for me this week, but not complaining :) It's all work. Will pop by when I can.

  • Wow where are you getting these loo rolls from?! That's an awful lot :rotfl: but then we must go through one roll every other day as my children seem to think their backsides are the size of big ben! I'm constantly sounding like my dad by knocking on the door whilst they're in there "I hope you're only using 3 sheets maximum" ;) they clearly ignore me though as ds2 has blocked the loo countless times with the amount he uses! :wall:

Hope you get on well with the soap nuts :) I use a bit of stain remover on stubborn stains by soaking items in sink with it before washing (already had it in cupboard) ...I might try the washing liquid after they run out (you do mean washing up liquid>???) I also use white vinegar for conditioning :) It cleans the washing machine from lime scale at the same time too -bonus :p

Thanks DFW :) Yes get them from a NE company (I think..) who deliver. Ethical company etc etc. There are 4 huge boxes now in my hall, waiting to be chucked in the loft :)

So...bit of a spendy day. Necessary new clothes..things one can't do without if you get my drift! Also some more groceries..restocking after running down supplies last month..have set aside £500 this month and will see how we go. Also bought some new stud earrings..have literally gone bare as had lost one from ALL of my sets. I have such a habit of losing them. Rubbish!

What else..start of a new month. YNAB all set up. We are good to go :D

    So..today..

    - doing some prep for some future work I hope will come through..wish me luck folks :)

    - PC survey done but as usual screened out of others..is this a conspiracy I wonder?? :rotfl:

    - scheduled OP of £600 towards mortgage which feels good :) (although it will take 3 of them to pay off just 1% of the total.. now I know it doesn't work like that as on a repayment, but sobering all the same!)

    - dinner - sausage, bean and lentil casserole in the SC. Chucked in an AF Ainsley Harriott lentil mix as well as the 2 tins of tomatoes which seems to be working well. Kids will help themselves when they get home and heat up some LO veggie pasta bake to go alongside. Should make the early evening less stressful as I am working late.

    - Realise how tight things are when added up my spends yest..and it was the 1st of the month! It just shows you how careful you need to be. Its tight because I want to save most of OH's salary this month, (partly for long term goals ie. mortgage, but also partly for pots eg. holidays) but even so. Eek! But need to be strong.

    Hope everyone is good

Good luck and fingers crossed for the future work Brizzle!

Have cooked "Moth" (brown pulses) bean daal in onions/ginger, smelling good, in pressure cooker. Will just need to cook rice tonight so easy peasy, will be enough left to freeze for two more meals. Cheated and bought eclairs 2 boxes for £2 for afters as DS loves them.
So much for my lose weight before Christmas goal :D but daal and rice is very healthy and nutritious.

Thanks NOA...must go off and revise in a mo, but just checking in first ;) I will also take your good news as a good sign for us both :)

Dahl and rice is an excellent frugal meal which is also great for the heart and waistline. We will be making lots more in the future I know. Sausage casserole with unauthorised AH addition worked well. Can recommend it. Think the sachets were 17p each from AF.

Heres to a great Friday tomorrow :)
