No Brizzie I haven't PM'd her - for exactly the same reason. I do just hope that she is getting into her new job and enjoying the boys in the sunshine - that was what life was supposed to be about

Thanks GP. I fervently hope so too..
All set for the student's arrival. Lasagne cooked, green salad about to be prepared and tomato salad basting in balsamic vinegar. Have meal planned for the week. Kids have done laundry and hoovered. DD2 and OH have gone out for a run at the parkI have phoned my mum (felt a bit duty like as had been so long since we had a proper chat but she was fine) and to make best use of the oven/gas I made sausage rolls for packed lunches (own pastry too); rhubarb and currant crumble (all fruit from our allotment); and cooked the lasagne. Feel pooped but quite proud of myself
Listed a Bay of E item and have done some TTs but need to crack on with doing some financial stuff tomorrow - especially for the holibobs. The rent for the student, our usual lodger's rent and the hire from the van (especially Glasto!) are even more keenly awaited than usual this month...but I keep on reminding myself it will be fine. Have to say the trip to AL&i went well..reckon I spent 25% less than a usual large shop. It was £203 (we last went 2 months ago I reckon) but I think it would have been more like £250 in the usual SMs.. its a timely reminder that these stores have their role in MSE society
Hope everyone has had some sun..its been lovely here

Hiya folks
So far I have:
- found some of Elaine Colliar's recipes - for herbal mouthwash and ciabatta no less and will be making those today
- made a ginger cake from a W7ights packet mix (from £ldi, never usually buy mixes) in the BM..looks a little dry but will be great with butter on it, rather like a slice of teacake and it means we had cake in the house without any bother. Have to make sure my student doesn't go hungryYesterday we also made vanilla icecream..our fridge and freezer are literally stuffed to the top with food.
- called to get a replacement C@xton FX card for my holiday money..£5 darn it..but these are so useful. I can then load up my holiday funds onto it and then not come back to a nasty CC bill
- got a quote for replacement PMI..still not sure whether to try and replace the benefits I used to get from work, or not. It will cost and I wonder whether its worth it. Need to have a chat with OH.
- had lovely chat with neighbour - I do love where I live
Off to do some errands now. Dry cleaning, charity shop drop, newspaper bill paying to start..boy I know how to live :rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Well what else did I do today..
- read the paper cover to cover
- cooked salmon with lime hollandaise which was lush. Al£I frozen fillets so not pricey either. Hollandaise used a pack of butter but lord was it worth it
- redid BudgetBrain plugging in the least income I think we can get away with. It's still quite a lot I need to pull in every month so I need to think hard about tactics. Today was a lazy day, ditto Friday, so I need to focus on next steps.
- nothing to TT but can now raise invoice for Glasto etc hires which is great news.
- scrounged a perfectly serviceable metal colander off a wall. Students must have moved out and left it. It's a small one which I figure will be useful and take up less room in the DW.
- a NSD today. DD1 went shopping but I gave her what was left on my H@M gift card so she was a happy bunny and it didn't cost me
- made a Herman the German Friendship cake starter for making into a sourdough cake. Can't wait. I know friends overseas who use it (it's yummy and so versatile) and now I am doing the same. Ciabatta and herbal mouthwash also in train..
Hope everyone is good

Catching up on diaries due to enforced incapacity!! You sound very busy Brizz...........or maybe its because I am doing very little other peoples activities sound exhausting!
I follow Piq stories too...........wonder where she has gone?
AF.......I tried the fresh stuff once and threw it all away:( Great for tinned and packet staples - rice pasta etc - and some weird and whacky things:D I share order with a friend to keep delivery charge down.
Our cucumbers have thrived ( in greenhouse) and are eating 1 or 2 a day ( mini variety).Runners have succumbed to slugs and snails but I am hopeful we will get some courgettes. Soft fruit however in abundance................feel a jam and jelly session looming:D

Thanks folks for dropping by. Nice to 'see' you all.
Today has been productive too, but still some outstanding stuff:
- did loads of exercise, walked for 80 mins plus and cycled 6 miles as well. Lots of hills so lungs were bursting
- bought DD2 cards for teachers and chocolate as a prop for a play she is in, but that's it for spends. OH also earnt £100 for some FL work so happy bunny
- still haven't done van rental invoice , huge priority for tomorrow as NEED THAT CASH BRIZZLE...SHIFT YOURSELF
- ciabatta was lush...take a bow Elaine...luscious, ditto herbal mouthwash (well latter not luscious, more effective :rotfl:)
- defrosted meat from freezer to marinade. My favourite lamb with lemons and peas made in the SC tomorrow:)
- house spick and span. Love being around more. Feel grounded.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
