I heard the "swallow that frog" phrase for the first time this afternoon, how's that for coincidence! It was followed by a suggestion that Freddo chocolate bars should be used for frog incentives (because they are frog shaped). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Yum idea Satchmo! I have always thought that was an underrated chocolate bar!:D

Hello folks..
All good here. Bit nervous about money again but it'll be fine.
Lovely sunny weather here so need to shake a tail feather and get out into that allotment and back garden to care for my veggie plants

Hi all
Busy day today but going with OH and friends for the princely sum of £8 each which feels nicely MSE.. we will eat a speedy dinner before we go. Garlic/chard risotto - a version from Jack's book with bolted spinach from the allotment:rotfl:
Great weekend but lots of practical stuff is not getting done which is worrying me slightly. Don't feel hugely in control if I am honest. Feel like, domestically speaking, I am clinging on by my fingernails..:o Not sure what to do about the car..maybe a long term rent/or just bite the bullet and buy a 'cheap' one..its hard to know. I so really don't want to take on credit for a 'new' one.
On the upside though:
- bread in BM
- lodger has paid her rent promptly and seems happy enough in our slightly chaotic/"always something on" household
- expenses done again and will be handed in on Wednesday so should be ahead of myself for once
- some bills paid off and TTs done
- planning another raid for EBay..not sure we will get much but planning for £250 and wont stop until I have got there:D:T
- lots of plants in the allotment and in troughs now.cucumbers and tomatoes in the garden; broad beans, peas, 9 (yes 9!) butternut squash plants and 6 sweetcorn from our bulging cold frame are now in the allotment, pots are banked up...some seedlings weeded and a haul of chard brought back. Gooseberries looking good too, reckon will be ready to harvest shortly. Some rhubarb now in freezer but really think thats the last lot now..getting too woody
- panels doing OK
Think thats it..
