Cheap car for tall person

Having worked his way through a number of largish old cars our son is now able to consider a new or nearly new car for himself.

We are trying to persuade him to buy a smallish car with good running costs for his commute to work.

He maintains there are no small cars into which his 6 feet 2 inches frame will fit comfortably.

Any views on a smallish car with good headroom and reasonable running costs, please?

Lol, I like his style. I'm the same height as him and drive an MR2 which is smaller than a lot of cars.

Although the only problems I've had with small cars have been 90's Renault Clio (pedals seem to be made for women and really close together) and Ford Ka.

Although why specifically a small car? you can pick up reasonable sized cars which are economical to run

I'm 6'3" and could comfortably fit into my OH's little X-reg Corsa. So anything around that size will be fine, tell him to stop being a ponce.

On a serious note the Smart FourTwo is about as small/spacious as they come.

Fiat 500 DH got the Lounge with the panoramic glass roof and finds it fine. The version with the sunroof wasn't so good.

I'm 6'4" and owned Metros for many years. I buy cars more on whether I fit in them more than anything else. The only way is to traipse around the dealerships and try a few on.
  • Mercedes "A" class , would be able to drive that with a top hat on ! (But avoid the vario transmission one )
