FREE MEALS FOR NURSES! At Carvery Pubs 9-14th January!!!!!

Thanks jumblejack ,I worked 12.5hrs Boxing day(get paid 11.5hrs),and almost 14hrs New Years day.(still only paid for 11.5hrs)...Boxing day we didnt even get a dinner break never mind a dinner!!,got home physicaly and mentaly exhausted,,therefore i appreciate any offer of a nice free meal...just need to find a Crown Carvery near me...daughters birthday next week,so if i dont have to pay then that would reduce the bill for the whole family,thanks again.

It really is, not sure how anyone could begrudge a nurse a free meal.

Thanks OP - my brother in law and sister in law are nurses, and have a crown carvery at the end of their street so have let them know.

Also let my mom know as she works in a hospital (but isn't a nurse) so she can let her nursing colleagues know.

And if once you find your local you sign up for the newsletter you can print a voucher and get your daughters for £2.99 instead of £3.89 - in fact we photocopied it and got all 5 meals the other night for £2.99 each.. I think that deal is valid for the same time as the nurses one...

Wow thanks slcookie,even better,found 2 we can drive to,(one is a good 40mins away tho,)but the other one is near the shopping centre we often go to.

That was not what I was implying. Having many friends and family who work in industries where incentives, bonuses and perks are common, it is nice to see those not usually receiving such things are able to on this occasion.

I think Crown Carveries deserve a big hand. Not so long ago they ran a similar promotion for people in the armed forces. I have not noticed any appreciable advertising by them to promote themselves as an altruistic retailer. These schemes must cost a fair bit if they become oversubscribed and would therefore be unsustainable. My son is ex RAF and my daughter is an overseas doctor. I love to see a company recognising the efforts of their service sectors. Encore!

What a lovely thought, shame more places aren't like that. Nurses (and everybody else who work in hospitals) do a really good job and deserve things like this.
