Lovely and well deserved for the nurses but what about the A&E Receptionists who worked over xmas and NY, I spent the whole festive period being shouted at by the patients waiting with no patience!! We always get forgotten about :(

And all other support staff and allied health professionals

But I'm pleased to see some recognition for healthcare staff so I won't moan too much at missing out and instead I'll be pleased for those nurse's who get a rare treat :)

Only nurses? I'm glad I didn't have no go into hospital if there were no doctors or cleaners or receptionists working ;)

Loubylou1982 - not sure why it's a rare treat for nurses? Are they generally excluded from the offers that everyone else can take advantage of?

    Nice treat, though :)

sarahg1969, I think the pedant is out to play!

A free treat is a rare treat in my eyes. I'll pass this offer around all my nursing friends, thanks op.
  • Excellent !!!! I worked a few heavy shifts on a orthopedic ward, so this is a Great reward as we don't get a NHS bonus (only chocolates given by Patients and relatives which if it wasn't for them we get nowt). so this is a real treat!!!! thanks to Crown Carvarys.
  • I accept a lot of nurses worked over christmas but I was in the haematology & blood transfusion labs all of christmas & new year. Seems a bit unfair to just pick out nurses. We didn't even get our usual free christmas lunch in work due to budget cuts, shame no one told us, so we turned up to work with no food with us & no way of getting any! Wonderful!

yes, I agree with all the above, DH works for the National Blood Service providing blood for transfusions. Maybe they should say thanks to ALL NHS workers
