Excellent !!!! I worked a few heavy shifts on a orthopedic ward, so this is a Great reward as we don't get a NHS bonus (only chocolates given by Patients and relatives which if it wasn't for them we get nowt). so this is a real treat!!!! thanks to Crown Carvarys.

except for a cast iron pension and longer holidays than the private sector! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Anyone know if this is available on the "Carvery Alternatives" - in other words the vegetarian meals?

Reckon so. A quick call to your nearest Crown Carvery pub will confirm.

If you find out, please could you let us know?

    Cheers!

  • What about the nursing auxiliaries (health care assistants)? I worked all over Christmas and the New Year - doing most of the hard physical work! We earn a lot less than nurses too!

Humm isn't that what all the strikes and fuss is about at the moment? The fact that the pensions are being changed?

Well done nurses, enjoy your free meal :)

Valid point. I wonder if it's worth ringing your local Carvery and explaining. You may get one of the staff to authorise your eligibility if you show proof of employment? Worth a try surely?

Sorry you feel like this. I work 12 hour night shifts in the community and work with a HCA (we visit patients together). As a trained nurse I certainly work as hard as my colleague and it's a hard slog for both of us but complete team work. We never get any gifts as most patients give to the day nurses asuming we'll get our share which we don't even get a sniff at. However having said all that I think you would be included in this offer just take your ID badge. You may not be a trained nurse but you are performing nursing duties just different ones to the trained nurses.

Shame how threads like this make some people resentful

Such as people that work in pubs.

I bet they haven't even given their own staff a free meal as there would be no good publicity in it.
