  • £100 per house ...100 houses on site = £10 000 . not a lot of money is it ? one of those 100 houses will pay more than that for a new conservatory

I am buying a new build house which will be ready later this year. I live a short distance away in the same village and currently use NTL. I am not very impressed with NTL customer service so am quite looking forward to getting rid of them.

What i would like to know is, do i have to have BT line. I presume NTL will not put cable in until the development is complete. There are other line rental providers instead of BT but i still need a BT line for them to use

As it stands the cost for BT line is £99 so i want to consider my options before going ahead.

    Thanks

    Louise

Stay with BT for your line rental. BT, and only BT in the UK, by the terms of their license, have to allow you to route your calls via other operators should you decide so to do. No other operator currently has to allow this.

plus there's no guarantee that NTL would be able to cable up the new build anyway, they're going through a slowdown in cabling up new areas.

I'd agree with the poster above, stick with BT for your line rental, then pick and choose your call providers
