I enjoy playing the village idiot. They have assumed I am the person they are after. They have never actually ASKED. As stated above, it's their job to confirm identity, not mine to willingly offer it out.
We moved in 2 months ago, but the people they want have not been there for at least 14 months (previous tenants were there for 12 before going back to Poland).Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Did you include your name in your email to them?
Presumably they can see that the same you write in and the name they're after don't match?0 -

I may have opted to use an anonymous email account that didn't have a name set at all. I also may have not put anything in the name field on the form of their website. I don't see why I should give them my name, it's not really any of their business
They seem to have assumed because I didn't either a) burst into tears on the phone, or b) vehemently protest my innocence, I must c) be the arrogant hardened debtor they are after.

I haven't specifically said I'm not the person they are looking for, because they haven't actually asked yet. I also haven't said that I am; it is just a dangerous assumption on their part based on the fact I haven't jumped up and down and offered to send in all documentation required to steal my identity!
I have nothing to lose in this little game of cat and poison mouse except my car, which is currently recently broken down on the drive anyway and to be completely honest, they'd be doing me a favour removing itOur house is fitted with a central station alarm that won't even arm if any door or window is insecure (and it's quite vocal about it when it happens), so I have absolutely no concerns about them gaining entry to our premises via peaceable means while we are not here.
In response to the latest escalation in their carbon footprint, I have sent the following by email:

I don't think this is such a great idea (enjoyable as it may be). If they somehow remove your 'goods and chattels' you will have a really hard time getting it all back. I really couldn't be bothered with added confusion. Too much bother! I would tell them that you are not the debtor they are chasing/threatening.
Just trying to help!;)0 -

And they most probably won't need a unlocked door or window to get them..they'll just "unlock" them themselves; especially if they think you've been taking the !!!! out of them!0
