That looks like a code word. Usually you collect these (9 I think this year) from in the newspaper over the coming week (or on this forum). If you have been given a priority code number (which many people have been sent in the post on a letter this week) then it lets you book online a day earlier than people posting their applications. When the sun booking website opens, you enter your priority code number and then the nine code words. I've not come across sun perks before so dont know about that but I guess if you have a code word but no online priority code number then the intention is that you collect the others printed in the newspaper, then print off and add the online one with it, and post them off earlier than other people (as you are one word ahead of other people). You could try contacting the sun and asking for a priority code number so that you can book online.

Has anyone experience of booking for a group of 6 or more people on a european site? Last year I was participating in the code word guessing game, got on the sun website as soon as the word was guessed, tried to book for holland and france for 6 people but got nothing. If I tried to search for 4 people then availability for my dates and parks came up straight away. I was really fed up and sat (for a long time) checking every european park (every country!) on the website for availability for 6 for my July date and not one came up, but all came up with availability for 4.

Have any of you thoughts or experience of this? do you think that the parks only have availability for larger groups during quieter times?

I would like to book for europe but dont want to waste valuable booking time if it is unlikely to happen, and risk losing my english options.
  • Hi all,

Will we be figuring out the last code word again this year so we can get our bookings in early?
  • Im sure we all will it was really exciting and when it got cracked i had mine all book for the date i wanted before the code was in the paper. This will be my 3rd time (been to haggerston castle the other 2 and it was great value) but think I will try craig tara as has a better swimming pool.

Hi everyone. So it looks like we might already have 2 of the 10 codes required.

Hi all sorry for dropping in on the conversation, i have been chatting with the wife over the last few days about these hols, she is not so keen however i have been to a Haven caraven park down newquay cornwal a fewa years back and i would love to see a cheap holiday this year.
biggest thing is affordability, so first of all do i just go ahead and buy the sun every day?
or do i somehow get these codes??
i hear you have got to get a code every day then crack the last code, then send them off online and get a priority booking form?? have i got that right?
anyway, i think someone else tried to ask a similar question but i will rephrase the question:
PRICES:: can anyone tell me aprox how much it will cost after buying the paper... per head based on 2 adults and 2 children under 5, admission to the parks?? i know they may vary so whats the cheapest??
food?? can you buy on site ??
    petrol?
this seems crazy i know as only myself and wife would know that you would have thought... ,let me tell you this!!! my wife is very very scaty and worries so much about finances that she can't justify spending £10 on a holiday and save a £100 for expenditure, but she don't mind blowing £30 on a new clothes that just so happen to be on a sale!!
so my point is if i can somehow explain to here that these sun holidays are only as cheap or expensive as you make em then we will be fine with money.
    your confused!!
can anyone tell me where we can go as a family on a bugget of say £150 ?
thanks in advance and apologies for the whittling on:o

Its usually a basic charge of £9.50 per person but you cant book for less than 4 people so is a bottom line of £40 for the four or the three nights. Then add on £9.50 for each extra person - including babies. Then most parks make a service charge of about £6 for the period, and then some parks make extra charges for 'entertainment passes'. these can vary from £3 per person to £7 or £8 per person at the big parks. Sometimes we haven't bothered with the entertainment passes but some parks wont let you in the swimming pool without them. Also most parks make charges for bed linen but we always opt to bring our own. Its worth checking with the park you are considering - one time we had to bring all our own duvets and pillows as well as the covers (for a family of 6). I've been checking some of the parks I hadn't been to on Trip Advisor. You can find a list of the parks when they are published in the sun or you can look now via the sun website. I tend to avoid parks where you might get put in a chalet and only opt for caravan only sites. I've only ever once had a mouldy caravan but 3 holidays of mouldy chalets.

oh and the code words can only be used online if you have a priority booking reference. These tend to get sent out by letter to people who have been on the holidays before and are on the mailing list. Also on a different forum topic, generous people who dont need theirs offer them on the forum to a waiting list of people which is formed over the next week.

if you dont have a priority booking reference number then you have to collect code word tokens in the actual newspaper, cutting them out and they print a booking form which you can send off. I've always got somewhere but not usually the top parks during the peak times (school holidays and bank holidays and weekends).
