  • Just been looking at the DM European holidays. They are very expensive and i would imagine that you would do better booking direct.
The UK ones though are almost the same, and i was tempted to book a park in North Wales for three nights that we had been to before. with the Sun!
I'm hoping to get International or Le Chein Gris for October half term with the Sun. Roll on monday:)
Went to Duinerell last year, but could only get three nights. Wonder what availability will be like for the European parks this time.
Has anyone been to either of these parks please? We want primarily to be close to Paris and disney, and will be travelling by Eurostar.
    Any tips or suggestions welcome.

We've stayed at Le Chene Gris twice - once thru sun hols and once booked direct. We used Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay Eurotunnel and its an easy drive to the site. We stayed Oct half term 15 months ago. Site is about 20/25 mins from Disney. Caravans were nice and we managed to get the week (Fri to Fri). Site next to station with direct train to Paris (40 mins) so we spent a day there too. Hope that helps.

hi, im thinking about butlins for our sun holiday. Was just wondering, do we need to buy the entertainment passes or are all the activities included anyway at butlins?! can anyone advise me on this. Ta x

If its quoting a price for entertainment passes then I think you have to pay that on top because usually the price for Butlins is much higher - thats when the entertainment is included though its not like in the 'old days' there are now alot of activities you have to pay for at Butlins - climbing walls, some sports activities, cinema etc...when we used to go in the 70's was all FREE (in with the booking price) I've been to Butlins loads of times and would recommend Minehead rather than Bognor Regis - I was disappointed with Bognor Regis - didn't want to spend all the time on camp and Minehead is a lovely little town in general whereas Bognor was pretty run down.

On suns facebook page someone mentioned that they paid £200 last year for Brittany ferry with a 4 berth cabin. It tells you in the booklet the different ferry crossings and prices and they do do other crossings at reduced prices not just the calais option.
    was that me ? lol
  • Went to Hopton Village (Great Yarmouth) in September , excellent all round .
  • Hi all

I'm looking for a sun holiday park that is nearish to Drayton Manor (within about an hours drive) and I can't figure out what park is near. Can anyone recomend a park for us? We would be coming from Scotland so we would rather be north of Drayton Manor to shorten our holiday journey time. I want to take the kids to Thomas World.

    Thanks

Hi, I live in Wales and have only been on sun holidays in Wales.
We have been to Hafan Y Mor, Greenacres and Trecco Bay all 3 a few times and have to say Trecco Bay is the best all rounder due to the location and area etc.
I have tried to go to Minehead a few times but have never been successful. Normally there are 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 children. Do you think we would get a better chance if we did the bookings seperatly (5 and 2)?
Also, has anyone been to any of these...
Haven Presthaven Sands, Haven Doniford Bay, Haven Devon Cliffs and Haven Marten Mare and if so what were they like?
    Thank you
A few of my family have been to Devon Cliffs and weren't very impressed - suppose depends what you like but have you thought of trying Tenby area.....Kiln Park? Tenby is gorgeous and there a bit of everything in the vaccinity - beautiful beaches, Folly Farm, Oakwood, Carew Castle, can get on a boat to Caldey Island. Treco Bay is alright, my mum lives there, so we go regularly but its a bit too busy for our liking - lots of facilities though.
  • Has anyone been to Teignmouth area? We ususally try to go to Tenby (I love Tenby!) sometimes North Devon but fancy a bit of a change so wondering about Teignmouth area - we want to be not too far from Woodlands in Dartmouth and Exmouth area - am thinking that Teignmouth may not be too far away?
  • thanks for your help artichoke, ive tried booking online with daily mail but for some reason it wont let me register "/ -keeps sayin failed to create record (invalid password)- when i try and sign up so think ill jus wait for the sun bookin site to go live... im jus a bit worried i wont get the park and date i want but im sure i will as have priority code anyway... i got my first choice last year and that was with postal application n i only started collecting halfway through!! so fingers crossed

I had that problem, you need to use a password of 5-10 letters (sorry if this has already been answered!)

Ha ha yep I think it was!!!!
  • Im not very good at technology but is there a way that we can list the parks and everyone can vote against it? just thought it may help when it comes to making a choice? Ive been to Hopton countless times its not the best needs cleaning badly but it does the job, went to one on Yarmouth seafront last year it was much much better.
