Sorry another question.... What time does the booking page open on the 17th Jan? And do you guys start cracking the code from this time? Thanks!!

Anyone got a view on this? I think another spreadsheet might be a good idea so it would be useful to know when it's likely to be open for a test.

Is Dover/Folkestone-Calais out of the question then? We usually use Eurotunnel and travel down to the Vendee, with a stayover close to Dover the night before.

Brittany is approx 350 miles away from calais, so yes its out of the question.

this is my problem with the overseas holidays (plus the dog problem)

i need a park that is a short drive from a ferry crossing.. as 350 miles of "are we nearly there yet" would drive me mad..

the drive down to Dover from the Peak District would be bad enough..

Freddy i dont know where you are based - but what about other ferry crossings ie to Holland, or Belgium - I have heard really good reports about the sites in Holland..

  • Art, I hope your dog doesn't watch you typing, ha.
I have looked at holland and yes , duinrell looks brill, but this also has similar ferry prices.
We are based in Manchester so like yourself I want to do the majority of driving in England, and yes its too far for the kids to endure.
We may have to stick with cornwall, we like cornwall.

My sister lives in Cornwall - but i dread the drive down - are we nearly there yet, back seat fighting, toilet request stops at every services, and vomit - so we tend to stick to Haven sites in the North West North Wales, and North East - but the Haven at Perran Sands in Cornwall is good too..

We do these Sun / Daily Mail holidays to see the seaside as we are so inland but we dont have a need for rural countryside holidays as it is just out the back door so in the Summer we go camping in the Peaks - and pop home to feed the cat!

  • Just been looking at the DM European holidays. They are very expensive and i would imagine that you would do better booking direct.
The UK ones though are almost the same, and i was tempted to book a park in North Wales for three nights that we had been to before. with the Sun!
I'm hoping to get International or Le Chein Gris for October half term with the Sun. Roll on monday:)
Went to Duinerell last year, but could only get three nights. Wonder what availability will be like for the European parks this time.
Has anyone been to either of these parks please? We want primarily to be close to Paris and disney, and will be travelling by Eurostar.
    Any tips or suggestions welcome.
