Just went to do this at Colliers Wood, and the lady on the Pharmacy wouldn't let me have the deal:(. She put the first lot of my shopping through, and then said I am sorry I can't let you have these items - vitamins and shots (6 of each). When I asked why not she said that 2 people had done the same deal today with her, and £5.00 was being taken of the total bill. I just said, don't worry, I was just stocking up for the kids, and just paid for the bits I needed and then left. I only went to her as there was a huge queue at the main tills, and I thought that she looked like a nice SA.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

I have some interesting (good) info regarding this "deal"...

I've done it 3 times now and was almost trouted on the 3rd. They only had 5 shots on display so when I asked if they had more moody SA1 said you only get 1 shot per 3 vits. I knew this was rubbish so she starts scanning them to check...uh-oh now the balance is negative...

Other nice SA2 calls Head Office and to cut a long story short they tell her that they must put the offer through as it is - ie free - and they must NOT mess with the total at all, Boots will honour their mistake and customer can have the stuff for free!

The best bit - overheard on phone this deal is unlikely to end in the near future...

I don't know how long but presumably as long as the offer runs then so does the glitch:T:T:T

Only bad thing was , moody SA put the whole thing through with my other bits and bobs but did it separately so no money off shopping:( but hey ho can't be greedy!! Yes the vits and shot sale did come up negative and no sadly they did say they couldn't refund it but I did get them for free...

Hardly good news you allowed a negative - bringing attention to the offer.

Mine went through fine at 5pm. Got a few other bits to use up mailshot coupons - so spent £10, but got £5.50 back in points and a £5 no7 voucher.
  • Thanks to everyone for the tips on this. I've had a few successful visits and thanks to the tip about putting other shopping through first (I always make sure my vits are at the bottom of the basket) have had no trouble at all, just surprised SA's faces! I also make sure my total isn't going to be too low to arouse suspicion.
Thanks also to the person who suggested opening the vits and pouring them into the one container - a brilliant space-saving tip.
I'm enjoying drinking the shots too - bonus!
    Happy hunting everyone.

It worked for me today as well. I bought -

    3 shots
    1 multi vits
    1 fish oil capsules
    1 Vit C
    1 listerine mouthwash (half price)
1 Nivea Pearl deoderant (half price)
1 400ml herbal essences shampoo (half price)
1 Mens Nivea Sensitive Moisturiser (half price - was £5.75)

I had a £2 Facebook voucher off the Nivea and a 50p voucher off the shampoo (from a freebie on here)

Grand total to pay £4.25 (also got a No7 voucher for £5 and 32 points).

Total saving on receipt - £15.73 (plus £2.50's worth of coupons).

The SA tilled it through, said it couldn't be right so voided it. She said she was hopeless on that till because her real job was pharmacy! She shouted someone else over, who re-tilled it through and got the same figure. This SA was really pleased for me and we had a little joke about it. I told her I would be back tomorrow to see what else they were giving away;)

I may try the ricola sweets tomorrow - my son is diabetic so anything sugar free is helpful.

I used the 200 points on listerine.

A also handed over 200 points WYS £20 coupon just on the off chance. SA said you've only spent £10. I said just try it, as it might be based on the total before the offers - and it worked. She said "well done - i didn' know that". No - neither did i :rotfl:
