Me and the wife have 5 reward accounts between us.
x2 sole each and 1 joint so we get a healthy £25 a month.

Would it be too risky going for this offer? I know the rules have changed now with how many accounts you can hold but we have had these from the very beginning.
If we went into the branch to get the switching done onto our joint account will it flag up all our other accounts? and can they make us downgrade some of these?

last year (before they had the £100 joining offer and only the £5 monthly offer) Halifax demanded that I use the Switching Service and have two Direct Debits switched over too...so keep this in mind in case they demand it now too..

I have signed up for a Joint account and am eligible for the £100 provided we credit the account. This is not a salary as we transferred that to sole accounts. The lady checked with her manager and switching team and apparently crediting the account, from any source, will suffice.

I'm just stating what they said in branch. Before this offer there was also £100 for switching your main account, but you had to switch your salary as well as a condition. With different branches, you might be able to get away with different funding sources.

Anyone in branch demanding that you salary needs to be switched doesn't know there !!!! from elbow.

Nowhere in the T&C's for this offer does it state that your salary needs to be transferred. If branch insist, ask them to point out the condition in their T&Cs for this offer.

We moved out Joint account from Co-op to Halifax yesterday, and we have out £100 in our new account already. We will not transferring out salary payments to this account and we made that clear. The account will be fed from our sole accounts by FP for household bills.

Halifax branch staff seem to make things up as they go along (as per my earlier post in this thread)

Stick to your guns and ask them to show you in the T&Cs. Don't allow them to confuse the T&Cs for the account and the offer, the two are different things.

If it wasn't for the intro offers and £5 per month on our accounts an credit cards, I personally would have looked elsewhere.

Dealing with some Halifax staff is like being examined by the receptionist at you GP's

    Would this work in reverse?
I have a joint account with them already - so can I open a account purely for me?

Yes you can as per item 9 of their T&C which says:

"The offer is available to existing customers who already have a Halifax or Bank of Scotland Current Account, Reward Current Account or Ultimate Reward Current Account in their sole name and wish to open a Halifax account in joint names"

That says I can open a JOINT account if I already have a personal one.
I have a joint one already and want to open a personal account and get the offer.

    Reverse...
