Sprinkle with a little water and nuke in micro for a few seconds until they puff up and go soft.

Cut a slit along the side with a very sharp knife and open up the steamy pouch with your fingers.

And - as far as rants go that was pretty tame:D

From frozen you can pop them right in the toaster and you end up with a big puffed out warm and slightly toasted pita. Cut it in half and you get two pockets.

If you cut them in half vertically rather than horizontally you may find this easier. They will of course be smaller , but it would save you trying to cut open the "top" part . I do not have the dexterity or patience to cut them horizontally , as there would just be a pile of debris .

  • I read a tip on here (sorry to the person who posted it, I really can't remember who it was) - if you cut two small slits, then blow into one of them (carefully as a lot of steam will come out) this will help push the two sides apart. You can then cut as desired.

We always landed up cutting through the pitta but this has made a big difference.
