my brother in law has used them after seeing the results from his neighbours garden but then he decided to pull the whole garden up anyway. From what i remember, you have to allow them come regulary to get it for a reasonable cost. Having said that, BILs neighbour does have a lovely lawn now.

I have been using them since last summer, so have had 2 visits so far and they are coming again at Easter. My garden is quite small and it costs £14 a time, which i think is the minimum cost. I have no contract with them and can cancel at any time. They simply come and treat the garden and put a note through the door telling you when they will next come and an invoice which you post off with a cheque.

As for the condition of my garden, it looked significantly better after the first time they had been, the weeds died and the grass is very green! Some weeds have grown back but they did say it would take a few treatments to get through the cycle and kill them all off. I would def recommend them to anyone.

The guy who came to do the survey was very good and explained things to me. He said there was no pressure to keep using them and/or to take on any of the extra treatments they might recommend.

My neighbour has them. After each visit I copy what they did. Both lawns looks good but I do the work. I think they are good value.

I use them & would recommend. You are not tied into a contract so if it doesn't make a difference after a couple of times you can cancel.

They do a job very quickly that can take me ages to do!

Anybody has ever used this company? I am getting fed up with moss taking control of the lawn and leave bare patches. Every year, I tried to do the right thing, aerating the lawn, apply moss killer etc and yet I do not seem to be able to control it. This year I have decided to ask green thumb for a survey. I understand it can cost as little as £14 for a small lawn. Wonder whether the company is any good? Thanks

You have several good replies here ;) I'll add this to the existing thread so that you can see more opinions.

Thanks looby-loo. What did they do regarding the invasion of moss, I am only interested to get rid of the moss, I guess if it is £14 for 1 treatment, it is not too bad.
  • I thought the Dartford Green Thumb was largely a waste of time:
The rep took three attempts at arriving when agreed - early morning due to work commitments.
He couldn't identify or eradicate a common lawn weed called Self-heal - he said, "We call it speedwell."
The slow-activating, no water in feed made no difference at all to my lawn, despite a couple of heavy showers later that week. No deep green thick swards.

    From their website:

    Early Summer Treatment

Nutragreen® Advanced ‘No-Scorch’ feed. This encourages a deep green thick sward, and no watering in is needed due to its high tech coating. More attention is also given to specific lawn weeds present, like self-heal and yarrow.

    Needless to say, I cancelled.
