My aunt recommended a company to me called GREEN THUMB. They will inspect your lawns (for free) and provide a report. They will come and treat your lawn four times per year - as little as £13 per treatment - which is cheaper than buying the necessary products yourself! During the winter, they will scarify your lawn (at extra cost).

Has anybody used this company to look after their lawn? Any comments greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance0

Nope, but we do use a company called Nice 'n' Stripey, who I believe are a franchise. We've been using them for nearly years now, and the grass always looks great - and we have a big lawn!
They have a website too, if you are interested.0 -
Cheers, BlondeHeadOn, will have a look.0

Only just seen your thread. We use Green Thumb and are very pleased with them. Have used them for exactly a year now. My parents who live in a different part of the country use them and we took their recommendation. Our neighbour also started using them last year.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0

My mum uses them in Northern Ireland and is very pleased with them. I have heard nothing but good reports about Green thumb. Only for the fact that my garden is about an acre in size, I would have no hesitation in getting them. But with a garden that size, I couldn't afford to pay them.0

Any weed/feed/aeration and scarifying service should improve your lawn condition. However, it's the base of your lawn that will determine the quality of your final resultant lawn. Normally you will get a lot more grass to cut and will also probably have some bare patches to seed - or get a gardener to do it for you!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Green Thumb is a franchise.
Minimum cost in our area (the Midlands) is £13 regardless of size. Price increases over a certain size.
They recommend 4 basic treatments a year - plus additional ones depending on the state of your lawn.
Ours is much greener and lusher - the big plus is that the number of weeds is dractically reduced. Still having moss problmes (after about 18 months) but the situation is improving. Has certainly reduced the amount of time we spend on working on the lawn - but then we'd rather sit out there and enjoy the lazy life!0 -
We've used them in the past - I think the treatment does make a difference although after 3 yrs I thought I might take a year or two off but then we moved and as the garden is much bigger we've not asked them back yet. We always seemed to get weeds early in the year (nowish) but they always went by May.0
