Oh dear - missed the morning to post again - not good! Have been to gym but DH walked dogs alone - he couldn't see the point in both of us suffering, bless him! They all came back soaked and cold! Very windy as well here so all in all a bit miserable, this weather! DS intends going home later today as his ex and DGD are coming home today. Wish he could find something to feel positive about - but hopefully this year WILL be better than last.
Hilstep, what a shame you were ill and had to cut down on the celebrations.
JG - we'd like Roo to appear soon please!
Essex-Girl - so lovely to see you posting again - you've been much missed in recent times!
Oh well, must try to rustle up a quick lunch (probably soup and sandwiches yet again!!)
Hope you are all OK - do take care.

grrrrr, the dog knocked the laptop over and i lost my last post! I don't normally post on the daily but only because i just can't keep up with it, it moves so fast!

I just wanted to share some good news with someone and I cant do it IRL. DH has decided (all on his own) that instead of having my implant replaced on fri i should just have it removed:j:j:j.

I desperately want DC3 but have not mithered him over it so I'm very excited.

THat's not all, I took delivery of a brand new kitchenaid artisan mixer this morning. Not OS? well, maybe, but my mum bought it for me to make up for helping my sister out so much. 'tis a wonderful thing, guilt;). Not sure why she feels like it, I have never been fussed that Dsis gets more, she just needs more and I have always been better at coping with stuff (financial/emotional/physical...) but this time it works to my advantage:T

Also, I got an amazing present from my nanna yesterday. since she has stopped knitting and I have started, she has given me all of her needles, some of them belonged to my great nanna and are very special to me. I can't wait to get started on some presents for next christmas:cool:.

and todays best present? the tv has broken. well not broken exactly, but it has lost the signal because of the wind. so me and dd1&2 (6&4yrs) have played cards and cut, glittered and glued all morning and had really good fun. they are now playing with the boxes my mixer came in while I have a flick through my cake books.

plan for this afternoon...chocolate orange muffins, lemon and lime drizzle, toffee apple slice. If I also do some raspberry buns then that will equal my 5aday wont it?:rotfl:

    Afternoon all,

Bitterly cold here with wind, sun and intermittent showers...was galeforce during the night, was sure that old tree would finally crash, but not so far.

BLT for rather late breakfast, dinner will be lo chicken from yesterday with steamed spuds and frozen peas....just feel lazy, fingers are cold too, have just lit fire in here so should warm up soon, dogs are in their chairs waiting for heat....spoilt brats.

No move on taking down decorations here yet....would be afraid to do it until after 6th.....known here as either Little Christmas or Women's Christmas....only realise how superstitious I am at times like this and when I see a magpie!

Tru....sorry to hear that DS has gone back to girlfriend....she doesn't sound like the kind of girlfriend you would want for your son.....difficult when only thing you can do is keep your mouth shut and be there with support when needed.

Started on first of blankets for Dec 2012 last night, moving quickly as wool is very thick, hope I have enough.

Hugs to all who are feeling under the weather to-day....not willing to go out myself although, just have to go to bank but that will do to-morrow when I have to be out for other things. My knitting group has changed to Wednesday mornings now so will have to get used to that.

Welcome Newby...sorry I can't remember your name but will do in time, so keep coming back.

  • I made it to the shop this morning :D

MrS had nothing good on offer but I got my multivitamins, but I did get DS a Dressing Gown at M&S £6 reduced from £16!!! I just looked at his current dressing gown it's a size 7-8! The new one is 11-12!!!!! LOL no wonder it was a bit small :o

Also got 1 present for someone really cheap! But boy was M&S really HOT upstairs... they had a powercut, and then when I went to pay my card got a 'layaway' for suspicious activity (yeah, i've not used it outside the house in 6 months!!!) and I got told of by the cashier for going out without someone because I had to sit down while it was all sorted!!!

But I made it to the shop :j

monnagram you are so kind :D
bemuzeed you and me both... I want to share names and pictures on the daily ASAP!!!!

Remember how Christmas 2010 folks had trouble flying out of Heathrow for Christmas? Son's ex partner and DGD were delayed for three days then....just had call from Germany - weather here has meant their flight home today has been cancelled!!! Rebooked for tomorrow.... We have another night with DS here then! Oh well, wasn't looking forward to driving him to catch train in this anyway! Better improve soon - we are hoping to spend W/E in west country, celebrating friends' ruby wedding...

    Hi all,
Quick post & catch up before I make a start on tea-need it early as DGD is coming with her Nanna after. Were having cod from the freezer, new pots and green beans/carrots.Tryng to be healthy again.DS2 has put a stone back on with being inactive with his prolapsed discs this last year, but as he is so much better now(fingers crossed) and has started exercising,he wants to shift it(and it won't do me any harm either :D He is cutting some wood up for the logburner as I type, feels very chilly, its horrible out.
EDF are putting our dd up £65 a month, not sure why,we're not in the red too mch.Have to keep an eye on it,the bill says actual readings but I've not seen a meter reader, and everyone else denies it too.
Our decs got taken down this morning.I'm like you Marie, not till the 6th usually, but the tree was so dried out and leaning drunkenly to one side I got fed up with it :D
Had a text from the so called buyer today,so not sure if its back on-we presumed not as we hadnt heard from him,we'll see what happens in the next couple of days.
FS-well done DD,always surprises me how cruel people can be :(
hope everyone who is poorly/down gets better soon xx
