  • Morning Everyone x

Wild and Wet and Windy here too! I feel so snug indoors!!!

DS is ready for school... once he leaves I am planning on getting up and going out. My BP is quite steady, so I am going to risk a trip to MrS for a few bits, and look and see what bits and bobs are left from the sales (I find that when everyone is back at school/work the shops are quiet and they reduce the last of the christmas items). I am hoping to get DS a few clothing items if they are reduced for his birthday in June.

I have the school run this afternoon! I am not looking forward to that!

I am crossing my fingers that I manage today okay... it will be such a feat after being ill for so long!

Yesterday I managed a 20 minute walk with my DS! I've not been able to do that for a while :)

I hope everyone has a great day xxx

  • Morning everyone.
Still quite dark here, raining and very windy.
Will not be going anywhere today. Will get all of the housework done. We don't go back to work/school until tomorrow.
I was very proud of the way my DD handled herself yesterday and more to the point how she showed her feelings for her sister. Both of the DD's went into town yesterday to spend their xmas money. Older DD was waiting to pay and the other one went into the changing room. Whilst waiting to pay, people behind my DD, who weren't youngsters, were giggling and rouring with laughter about the "it" and the "thing" that just went into the changing room. Meaning my DD. She said i politely turned round and said, that "it" and "thing" you were talking and laughing about is a girl, she is my beautiful sister who has alopecia. She normally wouldn't say boo to a goose. She does love her after all :D.
Dinner tonight will be sausages and veg.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Up and about early this morning as my to-do list has run off the bottom of the page. It's quite true that 'nothing cleans a house like company coming' and having my DB and Dsil coming on Thursday has galvanised me into action.
Beds stripped and WM on. Desk cleared and tidied while waiting for PC to warm up. I'm going to rip through the bottom of the house, except the dining room which is in urgent need of a flame-thrower, and then concentrate on upstairs. Have decided to take them out for main meal every day and the rest can be eaten from trays on laps. Unless a miracle occurs and I can clear enough of the dining room sit at the table.

Pitch black here and blowing a gale straight off the sea so I may even have to dust off the TD.

Also need to clean the oven which is D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G. Wonder if I can manage meals today without cooker so I can put it all in to soak or leave it to soak overnight? Decisions, Decisions.

Hope you are not all being blown away.

    Good Morning,

Awful weather, chucking it down and blowing a gale. Managed to persuade DS3 to put a hat and coat on:eek: no doubt it will be off and in his bag when he gets around the corner.
Off to work with DH today and then have lots of errands to do.
Tea tonight will be leftover chilli from last night which blew everyones head off but was good:D
Love the new year, full of possibilities. Feel like its going to be a good year.

  • Morning all,

MrS was up and out for 7:30 so I got up with him, and therefore the majority of jobs are done. Kitchen tidied, dishes washed, bathroom done, beds made etc. I'm off out in a moment to pick up some new chickens although my girls must have heard because for the second time ever they'd laid three egss for me. I guess they're feeling a little inadequate!

Very wet and windy here so chicken chasing will doubtless be fun and muddy. I'm fetching my nephew on the way as he's six and in love with the birds and he's not back at school until tomorrow.

So once I'm home there will be few jobs to do other than empty WM - I thought I'd put it on last night before bed but I must have forgotten to press go as it's still full of dirty washing and liquid / FC. Doh!! I guess the chickens will take some watching though as they'll have to be slowly introduced to my others to avoid fights etc. We're naming them Holly, Iris, Marigold, Daffodil, Peony and Lily I think.

I may do a bit of baking and I may just chill with nephew - he's due a baby sister any day now and feeling a little nervous I think. As the centre of attention for such a long time he might find it a bit hard having to share his parents, and the rest of us. I may have to have a little chat about how love grows for the new arrival rather than the love I have for him diminishing to fit her in.

Hugs to all that need them, and thanks for the pegging out advice yesterday. From now on dry flagstones means wshing out.

    Morning everyone,

All children off to school and husband off to a new job (much nearer than the old one so he can leave a lot later in the morning).
I don't start back at work till tomorrow so I am going to spend the day taking down the decorations and tidying. I am also going to see a friend who has been ill for a long time, she had an operation in the summer that was meant to make everything better but it seems to have made it worse and another operation is needed but we don't know when so she is really fed up.

Foreversaving, well done to your DD, that was a wonderful thing to do.

Hugs to Bramble, Beth, LW and Lou and anyone else in need.

Right, I am off to start on the tree.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Good morning everyone, this is my first time posting after a brief spell of lurking, so deep breath and here goes

Its howling a hooley outside, and I've got to venture out to collect a package that was left at the Post Office on Saturday. Not looking forward to the 2 mile walk very much!
Ive already managed to do my ironing this morning, and tonights dinner is already sorted - yesterdays leftovers of Roast Gammon, with enough extra mash and cabbage cooked to do Bubble and Squeak. Yum! Then popping some "whoopsied" stewing beef into the slow cooker to make Goulash for tomorrow - was thinking about maybe keeping a couple of spoonfuls of that back, adding some extra stock, and having goulash soup for Thursday lunch....... Hmmm, we'll see.
Really need to get myself into gear and get the rest of the Xmas decorations down, although I managed to sort out all the cards yesterday, and have lots of lovely little bits to put into my card/tag making box for later on in the year.

Hope everyone has a happy and productive day. Really must go and brave the winds now - or maybe one more cup of tea first :D ......
Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY! ;)

    Morning All

    Welcome Catmom

DH is back at work and just phoned to say that he will be home at 1pm because the roofers can't work in this wind, so that will mean that they will have to work on a school day if the weather permits.
So much stuff has blown down overnight, the green wheelie (garden rubbish) which is empty is now at the back fence (was at the front) and the plastic furniture is strewn all around. I must get DH to check that we haven't lost any roof tiles when he gets home.

Feeling a bit better today so I will try and get some bits done.

    Keep safe today everyone x

    Good morning,

Very windy here on the North West coast. There was soot/rubble blowing down my bedroom chimney in the early hours of this morning. That's never happened before. The house elf is going round to his best friend's for the day as she spent all day Saturday at ours. They're no trouble when they're together and it means we all get more done as they talk to each other and not their parents :rotfl: They're not back in school until Thursday due to teacher training days.

I'll be cleaning the good sitting room which looks like someone has had a tea party in there, giving the kitchen a wipe over and then sitting down for a read of my magazine. I've started following the slimming world plan too, so I'm going to make some leek and potato soup. Yum yum! I didn't really buy much high fat food, so there's nothing evil lurking in the fridge or freezer to tempt me. I've also given up alcohol for the rest of January.

Forever saving Both of your daughters deserve a big hug

    Take care all of you
