Thanks I do feel good about things but need to get this London thing out of the way and make sure I make the right decision.
Updated for the Mfi3 challenge not sure how I have done as my start and end figures were wrong but they have now been submitted. Need another £760 to have enough to do my ISA 13/14.
Got the probate stuff back need to do something else then the money should come out. BIL is not over until April so look like it might be next tax year before we get the money.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Congrats on the jobs progress!
Don't know any of the details, bit keep an eye on the commuting aspect of the London job if it is relevant. I think you may be based fairly close to where we are on the South Coast and my DH commutes daily. It is doable, but has a serious impact on his quality of life."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -

Thanks that is useful to know I did it for three months 15 years ago but only 3 days a week and it wasn't a 9am start.
Worked out its between £490 and £460 a month for a season ticket and parking.
Going to ask for a salary level that would mean after travel I end up with min the same as I am on now. Will keep you posted on any news.
DH is meeting the chap that wants to buy the business tomorrow morning so could be a super interesting day.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Right interview in London done and they told me I didn't have quite the strategic skills they needed but also in my heart of hearts the job was too abstract for me. They seemed to have an idea of what they kind of wanted to achieve but I know the market and it will be a struggle. Also five hour commute a day was too much when the job was not that fantastic.
So here we are local management job full time element of training which I love wins. Trouble is the £21k wage which is so so low so going to speak to them today seeing what hours they expect me to work, what the leave is like and see if there is anything that can do. I know they said I had to work everyday day but not Wednesday as they are opening late then.
I feel kind of ok about it it will give me the management experience I really need to go forward and it will be a new challenge which will expand my knowledge. The people are really lovely and it will be nice to work in an office again.
Money isn't everything and I am in a position to take the pay cut.
DH meeting to sell the business didn't happen yesterday hopefully will be set up again soon.
I need to book doctors app, dentist app and vet app today.
Should really go to HQ for a 4 hour meeting but it might snow and it took me 1 hour to travel 5 miles due to snow last night. Also why should I kill myself going up there.
Finally look like I shall leave current job before my contractual period ends 5th April as that will be easier in terms of getting the tax free redundancy money.
So all well here, still in bed with two lovely cats.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks for the update TG. They could never pay me enough to even consider a 5 hour commute. Not a chance, but if needs must and all that ...
The local job with the management experience you are looking for sounds ideal really. Hope you can work out the finer details.
How are those two darling boys of yours ?0 -
Thanks Vandafc I have accepted it and leave my current job 12th April. Feels nice to be settled and booked a test drive on Saturday for the Fiat 500l. Boys a lovely and I took them to the vet for their jabs they weigh 5.5 kilo each. How's yours?
Going to London for a late work thing but should be an interesting event with a lot of top people.
Got my second shelves in the greenhouse just want to put one more up now.

I've got such a hankering for a baby blue 500. Sadly not enough boot for all the gumph that goes with our lot..."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

Nope. There's ONLY ONE COLOUR for a 500
.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks for popping in baby blue 500 is lovely but the :eek::eek::eek: pink no thanks. I was thinking more the red one. I have never had a red car and I have had a lot over the years mostly new.
So done a few calculation as I feel so deflated about the new jobs low wages. Hope this makes sense.
So I currently take home £1927 that is £23112 per annum. New job will be £1400 take home (not sure about pensions) thats £16,800 difference £6312 or £526 a month less wages (lets also forget about the company car).
OK so I am loosing that a month by changing but if we divided my tax free £15k by £526 we get 28 months. So that means if I stick with the new job for say 2 years I havent actually lost out finacially.
I think that makes we feel better.
Ok back to car talk not sure I really like the 500L it looks ok on the outside
Compared to the smaller one
It just goes wrong on the inside
500
500L is truely boring and not that nice. Will still do the test drive.
Must do some work before my friend come over for a coffee and I have no milk.
